    Howdy,

I got the HU installed and it looks / sounds awesome! Very happy I switched from the Stinger.

There are a ton of threads about the trans temp gauge topic but I cant make heads or tails out of what is needed for my specific set up which is a 2020 Platinum, JBL, & Maestro RR2. Do I need more adapters or a ODBII reader to make this feature work or I am just over looking a setting?

I'm interested as well. Haven't installed mine yet (waiting for better weather to get truck out of garage) but I'm not going to lie, part of the reason I choose this head unit was to be able to see trans temps.

Are the rest of the gauges working on your HU currently? If they are, you should be able to press & hold down one of the gauges. This will open a list of all the items you can display, with the transmission temp being one of them.

Interesting. The Maestro RR2 comes with an optional OBDII connector in their harness. I'm assuming you got the HU installed at a shop. Do you know if they installed or used that connector?
I had to use it on my rig (2017 w/ JBL) because it was the only way I could get the TPMS data to populate on the HU, but now I wonder if it's the same with the trans temp :monocle: I'll have to go mess with it now lol

I don’t really know what they did and didn’t install. My TPMS works just fine but no trans temp. It may have something to do with the fact that the 2020 does not have trans cooler?

Shouldn't make a difference. The temp sensor is in the transmission.

Maybe, but I would think the truck still monitors the trans temp. If you have a scan tool, you can try to find out wether trans temp is being monitored.
I went ahead & disconnected the OBDII connector on my truck & TMPS stopped coming in, but trans temp was still there and updating. I did see some options for my gauges greyed out like engine oil temp among others. That leads me to believe the gauges data is being brought in through the iDatalink connection with the Maestro RR.
I'd start by confirming your vehicle monitors the trans temp with a scan tool. If it does, then probably look at the Maestro. Maybe needs to be re-flashed. Or maybe the ECU in the 2020s doesn't provide this data?

Installed my new unit today, very pleased with the outcome. Took a little time to make sure that everything was hooked up correctly as well as running the GPS antenna through the dash to the right in the corner by the windshield. Still have to play around with the new unit to figure out all the functions. Way different than the stock radio for sure.

Thank you, I definitely like the look and how much bigger the screen is compared to stock.

There is something about updating the PID validations to make it work.
See if you can find it the HU settings..

I got the Roadanvi. It is very similar to the Dasaita unit. I think they are made by the same company honestly. You can find it on eBay and Amazon or go directly to their website.

I have 2 questions when installing the Kenwood. 1. Can you continue to use the factory mic or do you need to install the one that comes with the Kenwood? 2. Same question but this one applies to the gps antenna, can you use the factory or do you need to use the one that comes with the Kenwood?

You need to use the Kenwood mic.
Just run it up the pillar and put it by the mirror. you won't notice it.
It is easier if you remove the driver's side dash panel speaker cover and speaker to run the wires.

    89c8122d-9ce3-46e0-ad1a-3639a589cf9c_0953ccc1c496ba39a6e714d9ccefc7a3adb26032.png4b15706b-956b-40ed-8383-eea83d879205_58d1d6980b9dfa1efbe2e44bc2b152d30e1c0863.png

You can use the GPS for the truck if it has the proper connector.
Just stick the Kenwood GPS in under the dash somewhere..
