I had the same experience with a Ford dealer. However, once they figured out that I am anal about things and will check their work.......no more problems. Also, key is to remain calm and polite while still getting your point across. When I go in for my first 5K service I will stay there and wait. I also always tell them that I want my engine oil right on the full mark, no more no less. My Ford dealer had to drain some out once because it was overfilled. I hope for the best.

hbmyke7, I totally am with you.I can't trust dealers. too many bad experiences for simple service work. I too am giving up on the free service just because I know when it goes in for a basic oil change, I will look the truck over and find several other issues; oil over/ under filled, something left loose, a tool left in the engine compartment, a new scratch or door ding, scuffed seat, etc. It sucks, to them this is just another vehicle.... its sad.

Stock, planning on keeping that way! (only time will tell)
Yea, it's really disappointing because my last 6 vehicles have been Toyotas, I'm loyal to Toyota, just can't be loyal to their service.

Hi everyone. As a wrap up to this thread (for me, at least), I ended up forgoing the sport and getting a regular Crewmax, TRD off-road.

While part of me definitely wants the Platinum, I was in a bad timing position with a lease, registration expired, etc etc. Lots of personal issues that prevented me from waiting the estimated 4-5 months on a custom build.

Regardless, now I have a beautiful truck. It's my first truck and so far I love it.

I feel like I will be much better prepared in 2 to 3 years, if I choose to upgrade to a Platinum. I'll be able to patiently wait because I bought this truck, not leased it. Plus, in that time period, we can decide what we want as the main family car, depending on finances and all.

Thank you all for all the input and support. This community freaking rocks!
