I am having a hard time trying to screw these 3 screws into screw grommets to secure fender flare/fender liner to fender. I can't get them to bite the plastic screw grommets, as if the tabs that secure the screw grommets is blocking the flat tip of the screws.

Anyone know of any good replacements and the size/dimensions of some screws to replace these original screws, from Lowe's or The Home Depot?

I wish Toyota had decided to use screws with a pointed screw tip, instead of a flat tip.

Almost bought some at Lowe's, but the thread diameter was a little smaller than the threads of the original screws. Guess it might not matter.

@shifty` Thanks for your help. I am dealing with the screws that secure the fender flare and fender liner to the fender. The fender flare was never removed.

If you have a drill index, start with the bit that barely does not go in and drill starting hole a tad bigger. Of course don’t go inward more 1/16” or so. Perhaps even an exacta knife if you have one to make starting hole bigger.

If you have a vise, place screw grommet in vise and attempt to screw in. Once you get it right, should be easier when applying to fender.

I bought these from Napa. We're an exact replacement if I remember correctly.
