The front and rear sections of the bottom cushion raise independently, the seat reclines and travels forward/backward (of course), and lumbar goes in and out. No combination of adjusting any of these has proven to be a solution for drives longer than an hour.

I thought I would warm up to them, but they've gotten worse. I started going to a chiropractor a few weeks after I got the truck (pain while lifting) and found out my right hip is an inch lower than my left. I think now that my body is starting to become properly aligned, the seat issues are more noticeable.

It's the damn cushion they use, Toyota/Subaru seem to have this issue with inconsistency, I'm about 6'1 ish and 240, I look like a fridge and lift heavy, I think some trucks cushion wear out faster and just lose the sponge, I've noticed this once when I sat in another Tundra, it felt very different to my seat, it felt stiff and lack lumbar support, with the bottom cushion towards the tailbone also seem very stiff.

There's also a TSB on cracked seat frame that cause uneven seat, it may be worthwhile to take a look, over the winter I'm going to aim to re-shape the seat with cushion from a BMW E38, I had a 540i long time ago and I loved those seats.

This is just how Mr T gets you to buy the next gen truck. He was smarter than all of us combined. Just trade it in for a true 3rd gen and be done with it.

I am at my wits end with my 2018 Tundra seats, they've never been great but over the last year or two I've grown to hate driving this truck. We will often take our 4Runner because you can at least relax in the seat. Bolstering is terrible in this truck, no leg support.

The biggest thing for me is the headrest height, at 6'5" and a long torso the headrest isn't adjustable up and down. My head falls over the top of it and it's not in the right place. Do the nicer trims have vertically adjustable headrests? I've taken both mine out and there's only one indent for securing, most previous cars, our 4Runner, etc. has 3-4 for some adjustment.

I've gone so deep down the Scheel Mann rabbit hole and I've gotten very close to pull the trigger. I really struggle with removing built-in airbags.

Yes, my Platinum headrests are multi-position. I’m really surprised yours are not.

A few months later and I've gotten more used to the seats. They aren't comfortable by any means, but I am more accustomed to them. How Toyota can put such garbage seats in a truck is beyond me though.

Multi position as in you can raise and lower? If you have a moment, could you give a brief idea of how high they go? Mine barely create more than an inch gap between top of seat and bottom of headrest. Do they also adjust forward and backwards? Thanks for your help!

When I put the Katzkin on mine I had the installer replace all the original cushion. He knew exactly what I was talking about. Is not perfect but is much better now for sure.

The ‘18 Tundra than I owned had adjustable headrests (multiple height settings). They were adjusted relatively often with me being 6’ 3” and by wife being 4’ 11”. Aside from that, I loved the seats in my ‘18 and hated the seats in my ‘22. I swear that the seats in the ‘22 were like sitting in a stadium seat lol. The seats in my Land Cruiser are a lot more comfy than both.

bought mine 2 years ago, the only issue I had was the planted mounting bracket was too short as it doesn't account for the 4 to 6 inches underneath the seat, solved it with risers but would prefer at some point to find a seat bracket that provides full height without risers. The feel while driving is so night and day, def great improvement. The guy that sells the bypass for the airbag error has a product that does work so the error went away. When I went to get my Tundra inspected for renewal the guy was like WTF and even asked me about it, it's like a car seat in a truck. The only thing you do lose is the seat adjustment / air bag deployment distance, and you do lose the side airbags on the seat. Mine's a 2021, one of the last 8 cylinders to roll off the factory in San Antonio.

I think I have to finally suck it up and pull the trigger on the seat jackers. I've read all the reviews here and most seem to say they're great, just pricey. But I agree with you all; the limited seat isn't comfortable to me. I'm bigger (6'5", 270) and I know part of it is my long torso, I need to lose some weight and get back in the gym. Desk job + sedentary lifestyle has wrecked my back. Lifting always helped with my posture and core strength. But I'm gonna order the seat jackers too, see if that helps.
I've never had great seats. My 96' 4Runner with cloth manual were probably the best, my 99' 4Runner with leather were horrible. I always wanted to do a seat swap with that one, somebody over at T4R put BMW seats in theirs, looked awesome.
I do hope to have my '17 Limited forever, I absolutely love it, so maybe down the road an aftermarket seat or a Platinum swap or something would be worth it, but I also don't love the idea of losing the side airbags, and opening the seat I'd be worried I'd mess up the heater. Plenty of seat jacker reviews but I'm happy to pass on my experience soon. Damn, my wallet does not want to stay in my pocket these days!
