@BriannaSTILLEN Heavily considering this especially since you guys are running a tax season special. I heard it's supposed to help with tow performance. With that said, it's the primary reason I was considering it and I assume with the extra torque it would help provide less strain when towing. I have a travel trailer that will be putting the Tundra through its paces. Thanks for any additional info in regards to towing maps and if I wanted to take you up on free shipping as well is there anything I need to do?

More torque throughout the power band, especially in the low end, makes towing a bit easier and more economical. We've actually seen trucks get better MPG towing a trailer with the TruControl vs. no trailer and no TruControl.

PM me or email me at bpezek@stillen.com and we'll get you squared away!

The hybrid puts out significantly more torque than 479 ft/lbs, but uses the same transmission. The electric motor is sandwiched between the motor and transmission, meaning the transmission must transmit the motor torque and the engine torque combined. It would appear that the 479 ft/lb rating listed is not the actual rating of the transmission.

For comparison sake, the outgoing AB60 found behind the 5.7 was rated up to 700 Newton Meters or ~515 lb-ft. The factory TRD Supercharger output was 550 lb-ft. Both the hybrid 3.4 and SC 5.7 are/were fully supported and vetted by Toyota. The only plausible explanation is that a maximum toque rating of 650 Newton meters for the gen three transmission is incorrect.

As for the rear end these trucks, have you looked at and/or compared them to virtually ANY other rear end offered by any other axle manufacture - AAM, Stirling, Dana, etc? These axles bring the BEEF. I may be incorrect, but I've NEVER seen a rear axle break an axle shaft or strip gears due to excessive torque or horsepower. Bearings - sure, occassionally - but more often due to water intrusion or poor/no maintenance.

    Just my two cents.

That same transmission handles the torque from the LC500. BTW the LC 500 comes in 2 flavors 5.0 or surprise the might 3.4 V6 rod bearings a la carte.

Good morning everyone. Just want to give a heads up that our sale ends in 3 days, so if you're considering trying out the TruControl tuner, may as well do it now to save $$!

Just a simple plug and play module that takes 10-15 minutes to install. And we offer a 14 day trial period. Don't like it and you can return it for any reason within 14 days, no questions asked.

The 9.75" Ford rear ends have no issues with Ecoboosts and Supercharged 5.0's making north of 750 ft-lbs of torque so I dont think the 10.5" or whatever Toyota uses in the hybrid will have an issue in the mid-600's.

Of course, with any modifications and power adders, you are chipping away at the safety margins. So if you can't afford a new motor/transmission/transfercase or axles then maybe you should not being doing such modifications.

I played with fire on my F150 Ecoboost and had it tuned and modified(making north of 525 ft-lbs at 2000 rpm when it was only rated for 420 ft-lbs at 2500 rpm) while towing trailers in extremely harsh conditions and eventually it bit me in the ass and I had to pony up $12000 for a new motor. But that was on me.

Hey Totall I have the exhaust and tuner just got a Dragy so I can comparison test vs. stock...waiting to do my next oil change @15k to do oil analysis before doing the tuner to make sure I'm not in the metal shavings club. I will be doing the exhaust 1st after some baseline runs stock along with audio and video, then with the Stillen. I fully expect the tuner to make a big difference, exhaust maybe a small gain but mostly sound. Intakes will be coming soon too but the tune with good gas will be key. Based on their YouTube video and dyno the higher maps should knock off a second 0-60. Easily comparable to JB4 but less intrusive just 2 connections under the hood.

Hey La, that's accurate but I think the JB4 has a wire that runs inside the cab you have to snake through a grommet. Hoping Stillen will update tune at some point to compliment their family of bolt ons like exhaust and intake. Probably all the same generic maps as VR lol...

    Morning guys!

Our tuner is similar to VR's in terms of how it looks and operates, but our maps are different than theirs. :)

@Totall4285 Let me know what questions you have and I'm happy to help. I may be a bit biased but will be happy to give you actual performance feedback and other members can chime in on their experiences. Something good to know is that we give you a 14 day completely risk free trial, so you can try it on your own truck for 14 days and send it back if you don't like it for any reason.

I dont think having it plugged into the OBD port so that it can monitor the engine in real time is a bad thing.

The Stillen has 7 settings, each setting is 0.5psi. This means the max the Stillen can deliver is 3.5psi additional boost. The JB4 delivers 3.5psi additional on Map 1. Who knows how much the engine can take and for how long, but the JB4 has much more flexibility if you are looking to get the most out of it before there are real tunes available.

JB4 is an awesome platform for those looking to really tune the truck. It does have more adjustability. Our tuner is a very safe, fun plug and play module for those who just want the extra power without gimmicks. We CAN give you some "spicier" maps if requested, but we still make sure they're safe for the vehicle's longevity. Some people don't like that they can mess up their truck using the JB4 if they're not careful with the parameters.

Should be just a few more weeks! Finishing up our final details, and getting other orders out before we announce a new product. I actually made a post last week announcing that the intake is coming soon, but I got banned for a few days :rofl:I'll for sure keep you posted.

Wow if setting 7 is only 3.5 psi and I sometimes see 16-17 stock means 20 psi with 93 is for me...50-60 hp and 60-80 trq at the wheels gain with 3.5 psi means the turbos are super efficient in the 2000-5000 range where the power is made...if that's where the JB4 starts then yeah I'd be skeptical about safety of the rings on higher settings. I noticed that in the GX550 they are using smaller turbos to get 349 hp and 479 trq., same torque as ours which means its very much factory capped. The next weak spot is the transmission...even the Max trucks with 583 trq I'm sure are limiting either boost or electric assist to manage torque throughput. Though I haven't heard of a blown trans or rear from anyone here due to hard launches or roll ons with or without mods.
Brianna can you confirm or deny Stillen's 7 levels of boost? Anyone know for sure VR or JB4? Not touching a thing before my oil analysis at 15k miles, now paranoid about tuning period lol...

Hey Jettster, it's true that we increase just over 0.5 lbs of boost each map for a total of about +4 lbs on map 7. We see great gains with these adjustments! We can adjust the maps some more if you're also running our exhaust and intake.
