I’ll probably never change the Springfield.

The Colt was my first and came to me used with a Mil Spec hammer but the skeletonized trigger. Goofy 6 inch un threaded barrel with no muzzle device. Later found out the innards got kitchen table gun smithing. If I knew then what I know now I would have figured just from the photos the gun was butchered by someone with no sense of direction but I found out well after I bought it.

Went to a gunsmith where the Barrel got cut down and hammer, sear and safety replaced.

Now looks weird, old scratched up Mil spec looking frame and slide with updated hammer and trigger. Debating maybe getting it cerakoted in 2 tone since the classic look is is almost gone anyway. Dark slide, tan frame.

I like my 3" Talo 686+ so much I bought another one..

Bought this one used from a S&W forum member.
It already had a polish and feels like it had some nice trigger work.

Bought Culina birdseys combat grips and another brand new 686+.

    6D428DAC-A91D-4B6D-B910-A1D1CC778286_zps_bfc44ee6588c96951f29894d005cba5c3d0d3256.jpg

Sent the new one to S&W for a polish and Combat trigger job, also sent it in with chrome trigger and hammer which they installed.
Hard to take a decent pic with the light reflection.

    Thanks.
One is mine to keep, one is to give to my daughter's husband whenever she gets married.
I went back and forth on barrel length.
4" just seems to big to carry, 2.5" looks a little short for a K-frame.

She gets a pretty sweet 1991 Sig P228..
First firearm she ever shot when she was 14, she was born in 1994...

Not the same gun, but her first firearm to shoot was a range rental P228 in 2008.
The first shot she ever took with that rental, from probably 3 yards...

    lexirange4_8543efb15a337500b12c2b9011e4359d5b7d18fa.jpg

So bought this years ago just to give it to her as a wedding present.
Cardboard box, original paperwork, 2 factory mags, and test target..

    Sorry for your loss.
My wife's father passed in late July.
He was in poor health so his passing was a blessing for everyone, but mostly him.

She and I took possession of the few firearms that he had.
I asked today on the S&W forum and was told it's a fairly early Model of 1902.
He said the SN would date it as shipping probably in 1906.
Not sure if that is correct.
The gun is a 4 screw, it doesn't have a screw in the trigger guard the older versions of this gun have.

I'd like to clean it up, maybe have it reblued.
It seems fine in a sense of function.
    Nice lockup and cylinder/barrel alignment.
It has certainly seen better days..

One more before I get to bed.
We're having a garage sale tomorrow and Saturday, I have to get up at 6:00 and set it up.
Although I'm off this week, with my work schedule I don't usually get up until 9:00..:(

I'd guess the prize of the father in law's 'collection', is a Ruger Blackhawk .357cal that seems to date from the 1970s according to the serial number.
But even it wasn't very well cared for IMHO..

There are 3 more guns of his, 5 if you count the pellet guns, that I need to take pics of.
I'll try to get that done soon.

Took some pics of the father in law inherited guns today.
I needed to save pictures of them and record the serial numbers..

Nothing special, but a lot of sentimental value for the wife and I, mostly I.
She doesn't seem to care that much about the specifics of each gun when I try to tell her..

From what I can find, most of these were made during or before the 1960s.
All of them have certainly seen better days...
I plan to spend a day next vacation and clean them all up.

SDS Imports Tisas 1911 A1 U.S. Army. Turkey's version of an original 1911 A1 used from 1924-1986. The slide and frame are forged and the barrel is cold hammer forged. It's also cerakoted to closely match the original parkerized finish. The gun is very tightly fit and the finish is impeccable. Minus the grips it's an extremely accurate representation of an original A1. I have ordered an original set of WWII Coltwood grips to go on it to complete the look. I'm even considering buying another!

I am experimenting with a new scope mount on the M14, it's a detachable cantilever mount made for the SAGE EBR that I have modified to work (hopefully) with a Blackfeather RS chassis with a scout hand guard.

Has anyone got a Badrock Precision rifle? Been looking at them since the 2019 Shot Show and thinking about the 6.5 Creedmore. Just wondering what you think of it.

My son was about to start the police academy, I had done a gun deal a few months earlier and ended up with a gen 5 glock17.
This was at the start of the Rona so he couldn’t order a handgun without a long wait. I gave it to him and he told me today is he’s ordering me a glock45 mos.

Great gun. My daughter used mine for her CHL. Then she asked if she could borrow it until she found something she liked better. Haven’t seen it since.

Finally got a WML on the new HD AR. Tried a cheapie Amazon special, about 50 bucks. Got great reviews as far as durability and performance for the buck but one or two people said the pressure switch was bad out of the box and all was good once they requested a replacement. I asked the vendor to send me another just on principal, but not sure if I’ll clutter the rail up with it. If I pop up the front sight I can wrap my support hand thumb over top of the rail right in behind it and pop the light switch without moving my hand too much. May just keep it clean and leave the regular tail cap rather than go to the trouble of running a wire and sticking something on there that might eventually crap out on me again.

All that’s really left now is to get it to a 100 yrd outdoor range and dial it in the rest of the way. Got another complete lower I have to figure our what to do with now.

I suppose that's not a bad thing for a carry gun. I never understood how people carry a cheese grater grip IWB anyway.

Anyone in here built a 7.62 AR upper before? With how expensive .223 has gotten I ordered a case of 7.62. Considering building a side charged 7.62 AR. I wanted to get an AK pistol and do a krink clone but they’re all sold out by me.

7.62x39? It doesn’t run so hot in the AR. In other news, we have an AK pistol on the wall.

7.62x39 or 7.62x51 (308) ? I have built several 7.62x51 If you do build one in 308 Would add heavy buffer and Adjustable gas block.
this will allow you to tune the rifle to function . the AR 10 platform is Really picky
