From what I've seen 20-22" is a good length. Usually compared to 308 where the CM is a tad slower off the gate, but after 500 yards it catches up and surpasses the 308's speed and stays flatter. Most say there's not a huge difference unless you're in it for the distance. If you're only looking for one caliber then most would recommend the 6.5. I say get both, because "Murica!

I appreciate all of the 6.5 information, .308 is better for me because the opportunity to engage a target beyond 500 yards is a rarity in my vicinity.

    What's in the box?

What mounts do you use for scopes on the m1a? I have the gen4 springfield mount, but it keeps getting loose.

A co-worker who's moving back to Chicago was going to sell me this Adam' Arms AR and 800 rounds for a sweet $500. Unfortunately, like many others here, it met it's untimely demise in a tragic boating accident. So sad.

This thread may be worse for my bank account than The 3rd gen section.

Had to snag the Mossberg Shockwave this week. Got mine in the 12 gauge “Nightstick” version with wood furniture.

    Already a few upgrades:

Scabbard is a perfect fit for this gun. Don’t have to worry about it interfering with laser sight at the current position.

Green dot (cmr-206) by crimson trace is very nice.

Build him one then. Just shy of $900 I think. I almost wish that the buffer tube was a couple of inches shorter.

Very nice. If you've got eight months to wait on the BATF for something that you should be able to buy and walk out of a store with, have at it. I go back and forth on giving the BATF $200 of my money to basically run a NICS check on a suppressor and then put the suppressor's serial number into a database.
