What stock is recommended for a 20" 6.5 creedmoor build? The ones where the cheek weld is adjustable really worth it? They cost a whole lot more.

An adjustable cheek weld stock is nice, but not necessary sometimes, depending on how high your scope is mounted. I put the PRS on because my scope was too low (how is is pictured) and went with higher scope mount with 20 MOA built in so I could reach out a little further and still have enough adjustment for windage. If you need more than a .25 inch rise, I always use an adjustable. I start by taping popsicle sticks to the comb of the stock to figure out how much I would need. The stock on the last rifle I built (bottom pic)has a .50 riser block on it, and that fine for that rifle. Sometimes all that is needed is a little foam and tape, kinda redneck, but it gets the job done without spending $200.

How many on here make your own ammo /reloads? It's getting expensive.

Reloading is usually only beneficial if you are shooting high dollar ammo, shooting competition, or shoot several thousand rounds a year...well for now anyways since ammo is at a 10 year low. Unless you can find a complete set up fairly cheap, it takes hundreds of thousands of rounds to make up what you spent on the equipment. My complete set up using a Dillon 650 being able to reload 5.56, .300 BO, .45, 9mm, .357, .300 WM, .338 Lapua cost around $2800, then you factor in all the supplies to reload, bullets, powder, brass, and other consumables.

And one I recently let get away but was too pretty not to show off.
This was probably the hardest to sell. I bought one new in the 80's and sold it. Hunted for years to find a replacement. I found this one for $550 about 8 years ago. Needless to say, I sold it for much much more than that.

I used to reload nearly everything (suppressed pistol, suppressed bench rifle, bench rifle supersonic, bench pistol supersonic, high volume pistol, high volume rifle).
It’s more like a F’ing lifestyle than a hobby LMAO. Very time consuming. It saves money for sure, but not sanity.
Right now - Ammo is cheaper than ever.

    Proud Dad moment -
I’ve always been a gun guy, never pushed it on my kids though.
Yesterday was the first day my 6yr old boy wanted to actually shoot on his own for fun (real gun, vs B.B. gun). Pretty incredible day for me, and him! ;-)
He did very well - but hit everywhere around the bag BUT the center bottom of the tannerite bag - which makes it explode LOL.
He still had a good time! (This is our front yard)

    0D95E344-7B2A-438C-8FC9-5BC614C0A329.jpg
    C387C6C3-D21C-46BD-8B55-0C974D86CB45.jpg

Then my 10 year old daughter did 3 soccer games the past 2 days, and won 2 of 3 in the first day of the tournament - she came home and wanted her crack at the tannerite. She was dead-nuts within a few shots and made it happen LOL.
(.22LR suppressed, but running supersonic ammo to explode the bags).

Yep got lucky! The norm seems to be .47 -.61 cents per round. I really need to learn to reload. I think it would not take long to break even reloading 7.62/308 and 6.5 Grendel.

It's always nice to see kids take up hobbies and past times of the parents. Even better when it's things that involves the outdoors and using their hands.

Love CZ, I think you'll like that SP-01.. The Shadow II is so tempting, you should get that too

@HaydenF I have an SP-01. It's very nice. If you want to go up to 19+1, MecGar (who actually make the OEM mags for the SP-01) have a 19 round mag. That's one more than the OEM mags. And who doesn't want to have 20 rounds of 9mm hollow point at your disposal if the SHTF?
