The Sig is nice for sure. I went with .40 so I can squeeze a couple extra rounds in. Can get 18 in there now.

I fondled a G17 Gen 5 tonight at Bass Pro. I like not having the finger grooves in the grip.

I can totally see me getting a G17G5 and sending my G19G4 in for some “mods”.

Kind of pointless to me. The G17 slide is not what makes it hard to conceal, it’s the frame.
What makes the G19 a great all around pistol:
    -compact and easier to conceal.
    -15+1 rounds
-I can carry a G17 mag as a backup, still have the concealed greatness of the 19, and in the event I have a bad day and spend all 16 rounds and the threat is still there, I have an additional 17 rounds to miss.

What is great about the 17:

    - tack drivers.
    - extra capacity if needed.
    - full sized, take into battle ready weapon.

Mixing the two for me...meh. I can do the same with a 15.00 MagPul G17 mag and save myself a few hundred dollars. Right now the 19X is priced at 750.00. Little rich for my Glock blood. Now I would gladly pay for a custom built hot rod 17/19, but not a box gun.

    WOW

    Awesome explanation and thanks

So out of the G19 and G17 for all around and CC the G19 seems the goto?

I did CC the Glock 27 years ago and liked it!

Just how I see it. Lots of great weapon systems out there. We just need to have the one we shoot well, and carry easy.

Tonight I seen what many men do and don’t realize it at Bass Pro. A husband was trying to talk his wife into a Glock 19 pistol. She said “it is big for my hands and is uncomfortable”. His reply “well that’s fine, you just pick a pistol” and left it at that. I was so frustrated with his actions I just wanted to kick his nuts up into his stomach. The woman had no business in there at all. Then a kimber micro was put in her hand, and asked “what’s this little lever for” and I about lost it again. She was asking about the safety. She needs to get some general training on weapon systems, then dry fire training, and then some good ol’ range time. Hell, most gun ranges rent up to three pistols for an hour or so. Perfect time to try multiple weapons system platforms.

Makes sense, yes there are many numbnuts around!

Since I already have the H&K P30 .40 I’ll see what’s out there for a smaller CC option!

Thanks for the good input Chris!

the very first thing I taught my girlfriend was to assume every gun is loaded and make sure there was not one in the pipe, finger out of the well until time to shoot and NEVER point the gun at anyone unless you plan to shoot them.
we have rented many guns and because she has baby hands she has settled on the M&P shield 9mm or the HK VP9 compact.

Both great choices if she shoots them well.

I like staying with a certain platform & caliber, for obvious reasons.

I keep all spare 19 mags in vehicles and all spare 17 mags as carry or spares in the home in locations. This way, the 19 never runs out of ammo, and the 17 will never get a 19 mag which would be deadly.
