Building an AR properly is far more complex than just piecing random parts together.

Also torques and staking that most people don’t know how to do or how to do properly. Some manufacturers don’t even do this to their guns, which can be kinda scary lol.

Midwest tall NV mount. About .625in taller than my LaRue LT660. Window in mount under optic for BUIS.

Less neck strain, more heads-up, and no more fighting with muffs/stock. Changed zero to 65yd/200yd to accommodate additional sight over bore distance. 5.56 77gr 2730fps... from 40yds to 200yds trajectory deviation from line of sight is about an inch below/above.

Walked into the gun store to get a stripped lower and walked out with a Diamondback DBX, which I had never heard of! Weighs 3lbs, shoots 5.7, piston operated, and about an inch wide. Time to finally buy some 5.7 ammo, which probably means a PS90 for the wife is in the near future.

Happy Feast of St. Browning Day!!

Go shoot one of your Browning designed guns today!

And if you're not fortunate enough to have one of the Saint of Orem's designs, that's OK. Go shoot something in .25ACP, .32ACP, .38 ACP, .380ACP, .45 ACP or .50BMG - all of which were designed by the master.

Sighted in my AK finally. First 3 shot group from a rest at 25 yards with tula ammo. Not sure if this is good or bad for an AK but I'll take it!

BCM is really good without being crazy expensive. Not PSA or Del-Ton low prices, but not Daniel Defense high either...

How are you liking the octane 9? I did the BOGO and got the hybrid 46 and octane 9. Both in NFA jail. For now.

One that got away SGL31-94, the ban on Russian imports drove the prices up to where I could not resist selling, no regrets as I really prefer 7.62 AK’s.

I’m a big fan of Aero Precision. BCM makes some good stuff. Neither will break the bank and make good stuff.

I haven't shot any other 9mm suppressors, so my only comparison is my other suppressors. Not to be a downer, but it's honestly my least favorite  it doesn't seem to be particularly quiet, after watching some other videos the Dead Air seems to be noticeably better. To be fair it's the smallest can I have, and I'm not complaining that much but just should be noted. The two bigger issues, is mine didn't come with any tools or anything to tighten any of the caps, so everything is hand tight which is common practice in general, but soon after getting it I got a baffle strike on the end cap. Make sure you have the root threads tightened all the way down! And of course Silencerco doesn't sell the tip cap for the Octane 9, just every other can they sell. They'll replace it but then I have to send it back etc. etc. Turns out it's a common issue for the Octane 9 too. I'll put that on me, but retarded that I have no way to tighten the can and then it got loose immediately and enough to cause a strike on the end. My last complaint is it has a metric ass load of blowback. Again, this is only comparing to my 300 OSS which had all the fancy reduced blowback design or my 22 cans which have about double the volume and a smaller round, but just "normal" shooting quickly and my eyes get teary. Even on the MPX which is piston operated so cleaner in theory, there's a lot of gas coming back.

Maybe all of this is normal for 9mm suppressors, I don't know. The baffles are just a bunch of cones, so this is actually what drove me to do a Form 1 for my next suppressor, since the Octane 9 isn't anything special internally which is also why I think the performance is kind of lackluster. It's a good can, I like it, it just seems pretty average. Excuse the long post.

Well that's somewhat disappointing. I will still keep my hopes up. I don't think I can really complain since it was free

It's not a bad can, and I suspect most suppressors have similar characteristics. My comparison size is only against much larger, and in the OSS case, much fancier options. So it's not really fair to the Octane and are relatively minor gripes. I think you'll like it; I slap it on every 9mm gun I have!
