Or be glad the market is allowed to be free and improve things for more people than any other system?

like I said, it’s not a dealer fault. They are getting what they can for the truck. If I were to sell my used car I wouldn’t sell it for 2019 prices just because I’m a nice guy.

But someone has to make a poor financial decision to enable those kind of prices and in six months when the market has flattened out, a bunch of people are gonna be left with trucks that are worth $60,000 less than they paid for them. it’ll be like a game of musical chairs and somebody’s gonna get left standing.

Right, but I'm suggesting you not call somebody a "mouth breather" just because they value things differently than you do. Its just how supply and demand work in a free market. If you wanna blame somebody, blame the ones who boggled up the supply chains.

This. Value can certainly be subjective - that subjectivity is what will ultimately reset demand.

Eh, I phrased it poorly. I wasn't actually suggesting you change it. More that you put the blame where it actually goes. Love me some free speech, so go for bad on that front. :oldglory::oldglory::oldglory:

That’s the spirit. I’m planning to do the same next year for a (hopefully) redesigned 2025 4Runner. I’ll put in a few deposits to hopefully get the best price.

I agree with you 100%. I would walk too. I can't believe people put up with this sh t.

Having said that, i don't know what I would buy. I would certainly look at the used market to cut the dealer (and taxes) out of the picture though.

I guess my point is that, while people are paying these prices because of some perceived value, i am guessing a lot cant actually afford them and that the OP’s blame is misdirected. The dealers are asking what they can get for the trucks. Toyota doesnt have a choice here, they have to sell trucks. The dealers are in the business of selling trucks. The only party with a choice is the consumer, and its their choices that have driven the prices to where they are.

Whether its free market or not doesnt make the choice a good one. The OP seems to make good choices in this regard. He didnt say he could afford a $85k limited, he said he refuses to pay it.

Lol op had a crystal ball a week ago and stated we will have a "glut" of vehicles soon.

But then keeps raging that dealers are asking more then MSRP.

Wonder if op been living under a rock for past few years.

If toilet paper, eggs and chicken and pork can double the price due to supply and demand, why are you guys surprised over the premium for a 50k+ vehicle purchases?

They are considered luxury vehicles, and your basically paying luxury tax to own it in this new day and age of supply and demand, if you need a truck so bad, plenty of them for sale for under 10k

Denny Menholt in Rapid City (formerly Toyota of the Black Hills) has been good to deal with, but they have virtually no inventory due to their policy of not ripping people’s assholes asunder with ADM.

So expect to put down a deposit and wait your turn!

Both things can be true at the same time.

Capitalism can be the best solution we’ve yet discovered, AND dumb ass mouth breathing oxygen thieves can fuck up markets for everyone else at various times with their stupidity. Now the stupidity doesn’t last forever, but that doesn’t mean it’s fun when it happens.

    LOL.

I actually turn more red, and froth at the mouth….

In fairness Toyota seems to have fucked this whole product and product launch up so badly it’s amazing that Toyota faithful aren’t more pissed about it.

I will still test drive one when the time comes, but from what I have read and observed it seems that Toyota phoned the Tundra in.

    actually that’s incorrect. Allow me:

the blue ball is actually stupidity. Supply and demand is incorrect.

Your wrong. The problem is the consumer not the dealer. It’s called the law of stupidity and demand.

You're wrong. That would mean there is less stupidity than demand if it's the blue one. Pretty sure you disproved that.

I've worked with Schaumburg Toyota in IL for well over a decade, and they're usually very honest and fair.. and can arrange for a transport across country.
I'll be happy to get you in touch with one of their leads, if you would like

When I’m shopping for something I have absolutely zero GAF how it affects a market, nor do I care what anyone thinks of my purchase decision.

People should buy what they feel they can afford.

If it were me, I'd pick a few cities that are easy to fly into and start calling dealers. I know for a fact that most of the dealers here in KC sell at MSRP. Not to brag, but I waited less than a month for my Platinum 4x4. Granted, I did have to spend $3k for power running boards and all the suspension goodies that I originally didn't want, but no regerts!
