    I'll start... So this happens quite often to me and frankly I FU@#IN' HATE IT!!! Wife's friends always put me in it n my phone going off like crazy drives me insane and then ther husbands like one of them works in a mechanic shop always sending pics of what he doing and sends em to all others n me then all day then going back n forth man i hate that shit!!! And today wife's oldest did a project to his pickup and shared with 10+ others n that was earlier today n convo still goin on now...I HATE GROUP TEXT WITH A PASSION!!!!...You all???

    I hate them too...my solution with my family is to just tell them because I don't have an iphone i don't get their group texts so they stopped putting me in them

    My solution is a long play though...built it up for awhile by just ignoring the group chats shortly after switching to an android

    deleted all convos and then waited till they complained that I didn't respond to an important question...like what we're getting someone for a gift...then hit them with the "i never got it, must be an apple/android issue"

    They'll persist a couple more times...it's important to maintain the facade of not receiving them

    eventually they stop

    Alternatively, some phones have an option to mute a group text...you don't receive notifications and you can just clear it out when you feel like it

    Putting info out to my troops or receiving info from my leadership....I don't mind. If it's a group convo that is easier in group messaging...that's fine too. but once it's done....it's done.

    The ones where it lingers and people are sending out stupid shit.....HATE IT. I'm not popular enough to be in group texts unless it's work related anyways....:D

    Android user here. I don't get put in group texts. It's probably either because it's an Android or people know I usually don't bother getting around to answering a single text until I feel like, some times a day or two later.

    Then again, I'm the guy who let his phone die while on holidays and then proceeded to lose it. I'm also the guy who ignores a ringing phone or casually rejects a call without looking at call display.

    When my phone goes off while I'm at home, I get irrationally pissed off. Throw the phone into the street level of pissed off. LOL.

    Reading that I sound like an 80 year old codger :rant:....

    Forget the group text, I hate people starting a texting convo. Sometimes Picking up the phone calling and be done in a few minutes is far better than going back and forth.

    Leave the group chat it will show on their end that u are not interested and they will get the point. Still there are 10% who will add u back, just block em.
