    Picked a set of 2017 platinum lights because my 2017 limited didn’t have led strip. I have a harness, but still not led strip working. I have been told I need to ground something. I can’t find a lose wire or extra wire to ground. Anyone have any pics/vids etc of how toaccomplish this? Thanks for any advice.

    I really can’t wait to see how easy of a solution this is I can’t seem to find. It’s a single “extra” wire that needs to be grounded to frame. I just don’t know which one. I’m guessing I need to de-pin one but no clue which one

    I ordered one from @Headlight Revolution but haven to been able to get a clear answer from them how to make it work. If @iHacker has one that will work and he can tell me how to, take my money and let’s get these things working!

    I'm exploring options. I've got leaky retros with failing DRL strips 'cause ElW used cheap strips. So, I may rebuild these with new strips, or I may use the OEM DRL lights and retro those, or I may just say "eff it" and wait for the new Morimoto ones to come out.:notsure:

    I’m not sure how headlights revolution harness work or the color coding they use but wire locations are the same

    I use Red for DRL bright signal, Violet for Dimming DRL signals and White/Back striped for Ground

    You have to add the wire #3 to ground the LED strip. This wire spot isn’t used in the new 2018+ trucks because the complete headlight share the same ground signal provided by headlights socket that’s why your HR harness don’t have this because is intended for 2018 headlights not yours.


    I guess your HR harness only have the DRL Bright wire :notsure:

    Black housing oem w led strip and the drl harness from HR. Plugged the harness into the lights and fuse link into drl fuse spot in fusebox.. still no drl power, do i need to ground something?

    I think I've figured it out. How many wires are on the mating 4 pin plug on the HR harness? I'm guessing you're trying to use one part of the HR conversion harness that was designed to convert to the full LED headlights and not the halogen headlight with the LED DRL strip. If you're ok with full brightness LED DRL without the dimming then all you'll need to do is add a ground wire to each DRL 4 pin plug, which is easy enough. If you want them to mimic the oem setup that dims that would require a little more work and a different harness setup. I'll check my parts bin, if I have the correct terminals I could make you a set of ground wires that would snap right into the harness that you currently have.

    I'll make a pair of ground wires, one end with the terminal will snap right into the black four pin plug, the other end ill have a ring terminal. When I did it on my 2016 I grounded it to factory bolts on the crossmember under the grille.
