Just smoke a cigarette while applying and you’ll be fine.

I will use a car wash power wash wand during the winter when its filthy but even that water is generally recycled and not idea. Sometimes its the only choice possible though, especially when the hose and spigots are frozen.
I try to use rinseless washes like ONR or ECH20 at least mostly, I use a bucket of hot water with ONR and a rinse bucket too. I also mix a spray bottle of of waterless wash as well, whatever I am using, ONR or ECH20, I have a bucket mixed according to rinsless directions and the spray bottle according to waterless. Ill prespray the panel. Then wipe across with a towel from the hot bucket, ONE PASS WITH EACH SIDE OF A TOWEL FOLDED INTO 4's. Then toss that towel in the rinse bucket. Then dry that area. It has worked well for me so far here in CT.

Precautions are definitely necessary with a lot of these products. As long as you’re not in an enclosed area with a ton of it floating in the air you’ll be fine. Of course since we all have masks laying around it’s an easy fix if you’re real worried about it.

Thanks for your review on this. Made me go out and pull the trigger earlier today. Did the 1st coat this afternoon, and will do a 2nd tomorrow. Application was simple and straight forward (just what I needed). My truck is brand new, so the finish obviously didn't really change (I also did not do any prep work), but I wanted to get something on before winter hits.

One thing that I LOVE is that you can use it on Plastic/Rubber trim too, which makes the application that much easier.

Since it was so painless, I will likely do the "Bosses" Jeep for her tomorrow also.

    Thanks again.

Lol... Dang man! I just updated that thread with a week at Havasu. Did you miss it?

Looking at the dirty, water spotted, engine all week is what got me on here.

    EDIT:
Update: I did get a second coat on the Evinrude the next day. I have to say, it looks pretty freaking good. Good shine, good depth, and almost as slippery as my favorite, Bead Maker.

Looking forward to seeing how it holds up.

lol... apparently i was too early to your updates and only caught the parts where you were "saving spots" to post pics and type up a great story. i did just see that more pics / stories were posted (thankfully none of them of your naked ass). i will read shortly.

thanks for allowing all of us to live vicariously through your boating adventures.

Since things went so well yesterday, I decided to do the 'Bosses' Jeep today before doing the 2nd coat on the Tundra. Did her wheels and side steps as well, then finished the Tundra up (+ Wheels and steps). If our mild weather holds out I'll probably do my Corvette next weekend also.

Thanks again for the info on this thread...I'm happy that I read it.

Edit: One other thing I learned during the process. Make sure there are no dead/fallen leaves within a 2 mile radius. The Microfiber towels are like magnets for them, and once they are on, you pretty much need to just grab another towel. Haha.

After sinking the truck in mud and dust at Windrock this weekend:

    1. Washed 3x with Dawn Heavy Duty. Underside too. I hate mud. This was after 4 hours of pressure washing.

    2. Tried the Carpro Iron X - nada results, which is good. But damn it stinks.

    3. Tried buffing out scratches from pinstriping - blended some, but did not get them out. I don't have a pad that is aggressive enough so I'll do it next time.

    4. Sealed paint with Jet Seal (I know there are strong opinions on CG, but it works for me)

    5. Just put on coat 1 of the Griot's - probably the easiest stuff I've ever applied and removed.

    6. Will put on coat 2 tonite after 12 hours.

I think I may try it on my windows too. @War Machine - thoughts on that?

Originally, Griots had made a statement that they didn’t recommend it for glass. I just looked on their site to find exactly what they said, and it seems they’ve modified their opinion somewhat:

“Yes, Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax is safe for all exterior surfaces including glass, plastic, vinyl and rubber. It can be applied to windshields but if a glass sealant product is already applied test in a small section to ensure no film or glare issues.”

I haven’t tried it on my windows. I did put some on my shower doors and didn’t see any problems.

It would be interesting to try it on my plastic tub to see if it keeps soap scum and water spots from building up as fast.

Washed and applied 3-in-1 yesterday. Did a 2nd coat today. Looking good for an 18 year old Truck. My truck gets theses weird black stains on the paint that originate from my mirrors. Griots didn't remove those which I expected. I'll hit those spots with regular wax.

I'd be surprised if regular wax removed those stains....not shocked that 3 in 1 didn't....it has no cleaning component. You'll probably need something with a little abrasive in it.....such as an AIO.....Blackfire AIO, 3D Speed, Meguiars D166, Rupes Uno Protect would work well

No I should have mentioned that the stains happen regularly and normal wax always removes them. I wasn't expecting Griots to remove them. Wish I knew what's on/in the aging plastic that is causing the stains. Not a big deal though.

After you wash don’t bother drying just start claying then wash again after.
