Yup, love me some beadmaker. Once that runs out though, I'm trying the griot's 3 in 1. Longevity is the grail.

We just got our first rain since I applied the 3-in-1. I'm really impressed with the hydrophobic abilities.

Picked it up yesterday. If it's cool and dry enough next weekend, I'm going to apply it.

Ok, daughter came home for the weekend. First time her Tundra has been here since mid August. I washed it yesterday, and the Griots 3-in-1 has pretty much worn off. Last time I washed it was in early August, and it was still holding up at that point.

Since the truck hasn’t been here for about six weeks, I’m not sure exactly when it failed. I originally applied it in mid March, and it was still protecting at the beginning of August. I can safely say I got 5 months of protection from the product.

Five months through the hottest part of the year here in Texas is pretty damned impressive. Also, I only did one coat instead of the recommended two, and didn’t do anything to maintain it in that time. That’s one coat, no maintenance other than washing with Reset. Had I used 2 coats, then used it as a drying aid on occasion, I assume it would have lasted a good bit longer.
I went ahead and reapplied 3-in-1 to the truck yesterday. Not sure if I’ll go ahead and add a second coat or not.

Note: Yesterday the weather was in the mid 70’s, no humidity to speak of. I had zero issues with streaking.

I really like hearing about the length of time it still gives you protection. Put on 2 coats last week and hope to add 1 more coat before it get too cold. Not sure if I will be able to put on a coat once we get into winter. Today is Fluid Film day.

    Easy, peasy.......

Here's my result in one coat. New paint and it popped.

I'm sold. This stuff is the real deal.

curious if anyone has tried Griots 3-in-1 on their tonneau cover? I have the Bakflip Revolver X4 (matte finish) and right now have 303 on it but wonder if the longevity of 3-1 will work with the vinyl overlay

I haven’t tried it on my Bakflip, but no other product of this type has held up on mine. (I have an MX4 though, not a Revolver.)

I did one little spot on mine with Cerakote to see how it will hold up. It’s been a couple of weeks and it seems like it’s going to work. Only problem is it will probably take a whole pack of them at least to do the whole thing.

Maybe I've missed something here (and I'm a newbie) but how do you use the 3n1 as a drying aid? I used the product the 1st week of September after reading all of these post and have been impressed.

When you wash the truck, just lightly mist the product on the paint while it’s still wet. Then just dry as normal.

Another dumb question: I just clayed my wifes new to her Pilot. Should I wax and then treat with the Griots 3n1 or just do the 3n1 only? The car will be sitting in the garage for at least 4 more days.
The 2018 was bought used and it does not look/feel/bead water like it has had either in some time.

No wax. Did you wash after clay? You want the surface as clean as possible. Wipe it down with some alcohol and water mix first (presuming you don’t have CarPro eraser)

I washed and rinsed. Clayed with (Mothers speed clay 2.0) using fresh car soap/water mix for lubricant and then rinsed and dried. Did that for each panel. So I still need to wash again?

So....update on my 3 in 1 experience. My daughter was home from school this past weekend, and she was quick to tell me how dirty her car is. Saturday morning it found itself in the wash bay. Griots was applied in August. Basically, two months later, the protection is still holding up, but not as strong as I would have thought for a car that spends its life in a parking garage, and really isn't driven that much. This was the first application where I've really had time to assess it's longevity. In fairness, it has not been washed since she returned to school in late August, but I was expecting a little better than what I saw.

Perhaps it was my application process, I don't know. I've used it on some customer's cars......let's see how it does on theirs.

Pretty much the same situation for my daughter but I got better performance. I wonder what factors could make such a difference? I doubt it was your application process, you definitely know what you’re doing.

It got no boosters after this wash....I want it to stand by itself and see what it looks like the next time I see it. I'm thinking that my application may have been a little light....due to the heat and humidity when I applied it. Time will tell. I still think it's an outstanding product.

Picked up some 3 in 1 the other day at Autozone. Can this be applied over a wax? McGuire's Tech wax? Or do I have to strip it off?

You can, but it probably won’t last very long. It’s best to do a paint decon anyway if you haven’t. That will take the wax off.

I didn’t boost hers either. It’s probably the truest long term test I’ve done. I applied it in March, so heat wasn’t bad. Actually suspected I used too much at the time also, so that may be a factor.

2 coats of 3-1 separated by 24 hrs. My first time using. Easy to apply and easy off, I did the wheels as well. What helped for me was using several mf towels, as once one got too saturated it became harder to wipe off. I'm hoping this will provide good winter protection. I intend to use turtle wax ceramic wet wax as a drying aid when I wash.

Looks good. I've seen other people actually use the 3 in 1 as a drying aid...not tried that myself yet
