I do not think it's recommended for glass....at least glass is not mentioned on Griots website as a surface it can be applied to

Yeah I keep it off glass but trim wheels and lights all get it.

When I spent a little extra time buffing it off the glass I had zero issues and it beads water off the glass great.

But, you’re probably right. It’s probably not designed for glass.

I had some of the Car Guys Hybrid, but honestly can’t remember if I ever even used it. It was part of the pile of extra products I donated a while back. Car Guys does make some great stuff though. Their trim restorer and wheel cleaner are really good.
I know that the Griots isn’t close to as slick as Beadmaker, but I do think it’s slicker than most other products I’ve tried. Certainly more so than Reload, Hydro2, and Powerlock. It does seem to have those beat in durability and I think it’s exceptionally good at keeping the paint cleaner in between washes.

I do believe I read somewhere that Griots does not recommend this for glass.

I didn’t notice any bad smell from the interior cleaner, but haven’t used it a ton. I generally use Shine Supply interior products.

I gave my 2011 another coat of Griot's 3 in 1 last night. I love that stuff. Based on what some others have been doing here, I tried the method of spraying it on the microfiber towel first, then applying it and wiping it off with a clean towel (as opposed to spraying it directly on the vehicle surface). That works much better for me, and I don't have any problems with overspray. I have been using 1-2 microfiber towels for application, and I go through 3-4 microfiber towels in the drying/buff portion of the process. I find that the streaks are much easier to avoid when using a dry towel that doesn't have much (if any) residue on it. That process seems to be better (for me) in getting a more consistent coat, and it reduces the time it takes to complete by quite a bit.

As far as the interior, I started using the Mothers VLR, more for the cleaning stage, then following it up with the Griot's 3 in 1 leather care. The results are impressive. And the smell is fantastic. It smells more like new leather than new car, but it is very appealing. I was a bit concerned about the smell after reading on here that some peoples' interiors were left smelling like ass, but mine turned out great as far as smell. And the condition of the leather is amazing. I'll be sticking with this combo for now.

At the risk of thread drift, how are you guys cleaning this stuff (3-in-1) out of your microfiber? I've found it difficult to deal with microfiber after applying Turtle Wax Seal-n-Shine and I imagine 3-in-1 might be worse.

I throw each towel into a bucket as I'm done with them, then when I'm done with the job, I toss all of them into the washing machine, then into the dryer. So far, it seems to work and hasn't messed anything up. I do the same with the interior treatment cloths.

Griots has a micro fiber cleaner that I believe you add to your washing machine.

Mothers VLR and Griots 3 in 1 Leather care are the same type of 'one step' product. My sense is that you're removing some of the protection left behind by the VLR with the cleaning agents in the Griots. I like Griots stuff, but the leather 3 in 1 left me a little underwhelmed when it came to its cleaning abilities....but that's generally the nature of a multi-purpose product. I've since switched to P&S interior cleaner, and condition with Chamberlains Leather Milk. When I come across leather that's really dirty, the steamer comes out.

For the record....the Griots stuff does smell really good

I've never heard of this issue with TW Seal N Shine. I wash all of my microfibers in ALL Free and Clear, run them through an additional rinse cycle, tumble dry (no heat) for 30 minutes and them hang them up to finish drying.

The issue was that they were all sticky and getting hard by the time I was ready to clean up. I didn't actually try to wash them as I didn't want to risk contaminating other towels. I just ended up chucking them, as there weren't enough of them to do a separate washer load. Not a great long-term strategy, though.

I just ordered a bottle of GG 3-1 and wanted to see if my process would work. Probably been a year since my last decon and clay, so will do that. Depending on swirls and scratches, thinking about shine supply burn out with a LC orange pad, IPA, shine supply daddy-o with a black lc pad then using 3-1? Or would I skip the daddy-o and go straight to 3-1 after IPA wipe since it is already a sealant? Not sure how Daddy-o and 3-1 would stack or if it would be diminishing returns.

I just used this product on the hull and some smooth topside areas of my boat. We just had a hurricane here in MD and I hauled the boat for the storm. I washed the hull, removed the water stains, and used my leaf blower to dry it. I applied the Griot's product, let it haze, then buffed it off. Now that the boat is back in the water I notice the water doesn't really bead up like traditional wax. It just sort of runs off or doesn't stick. Based on what I've seen from other ceramic products I think it is working right. The Griots product was applied over a 3 month old coat of Smoove Bubble Gum wax. I'll try to update as I use the boat more. I also did a coat on my outboard. Very pleased with the shine.

Based on what I read in this thread I decided to give the 3-in-1 a try.

From Griot's I bought the wax, a synthetic clay sponge, and so I would get free postage I got some towels.

First I washed the truck with my normal wash mitt, then I went over the same panel a second time with the clay sponge, using the same soap from my wash bucket, nothing fancy; it's a ten year old truck with plenty of desert pinstriping.

After drying the truck I would spray one panel with the wax, use one of my new towels to evenly spread the wax, then use my other new towel to rub the wax until it shines.

    It seems to work great.

I think this will be my new regime instead of using McGuiar's cleaner wax on a semi-annual basis like I did previously for years.

    I'm very satisfied.

Not sure how the combo would work. I haven’t had much luck stacking anything on Jescar Powerlock, which is pretty similar to Daddy-O. I’d say the Daddy-O is unnecessary, but it wouldn’t hurt to try.

It will be interesting to see if they play together. I have only used 3 in 1 as a standalone product. My sense is that you will not get all of the benefits of the Griots with a sealant between it and the clearcoat. Keep us posted....maybe stack one half of the hood and use the Griots alone on the other half and see how it works out?

Funny you mention the Megs Cleaner Wax. That was all I used for a very long time. To me, it was the original AIO.

I think I’ll go pick up a bottle this afternoon. My 15 MGM hasn’t been washed waxed since April. We are heading out on a road trip Friday morning for 10 days so I thought I’d give her a nice bath and wax her up for the ride. I really want to see how it dose on the Bugs on the headlights and front end.
Question: can I use any microfiber towels ? I’ve got a new package I got from Costco a while back so have plenty.

Not sure if it will make a noticeable difference in how easy it will be to get the bugs off. They eat through pretty much anything short of PPF really quickly.
As for the towels, while there are better options than the Costco towels, they’re high quality for a great price. I keep a ton of those on hand. They should work just fine. If you want something better, The Rag Company’s Eagle Edgeless are a great and affordable option. They’re just more plush and soft, so it’s safer, but as long as your truck and towels are clean the Costco towels are a good option.

Gave it a good wet wash and dry, touched up some chips, then hit it with 2 applications of Griots 3-in-1 (one yesterday, one today). Super easy to apply. We'll see how it holds up!

D3E7A2EA-2739-4272-A0C6-84F290D5A082.jpg Still have a long list of things to do on this truck. Spent my Covid down time just getting it back into shape. Truck has almost 300k miles on it so it needed some love. The detail threads gave me the information I needed to make her look great again. I did a complete amsoil fluid change to everything last weekend as well. It was my first off-road truck so I plan to keep it forever.
