That's a nice boat. I'll let you know how it does. I'm betting it is easy to apply on a white surface since this stuff looks like pea soup in the bottle.

Side note: I did Advance Auto same day delivery (for free, why not). This stuff showed up in a box with a packing slip two hours layer dropped off by a carpet and flooring company van. Weird, but pretty cool.

Yeah it’s a real nice boat. Triple 300’s all white Yamahas he did a real coating on his pathfinder 2200 but looking for something a little easier for the big one that’s not on a trailer. I’ll have to try that same day drop off from them sounds super easy.

I applied 3-1 this am on the wife’s ride application was super easy and had no problem with streaking I did it the easy way today and skipped clay and polish which I did 3 months ago. I did use ironx and eraser to prep a little bit A1E397D8-7922-4D74-B5E2-C1B2DC839C10.jpg 9BA2CAF4-6BFE-480C-B414-C0244BA94755.jpg 3456AC8E-D5F3-4350-B5AB-946904AC8C59.jpg

I may be a weirdo but I personally love to see how these things preform in the rain. Most like to avoid the bad weather it seems.

So drove 800 miles yesterday woke up treated the front and mirrors with bug off and wiped the whole ride down with spiked punch. I am really impressed with the griots ceramic spray the truck still looks awesome with very little maintenance. Not weird at all. I've actually stood next to my truck in the rain and watched the water run off....very satisfying.

    Bought some.

Good shit. Had some streaking but I'm guessing it was because I did 3-4 panels before I wiped it off. Spiked punch and beadmaker I can get by with that. I'll try a panel at a time next wash.

Rained right after I finish and pulled into the garage.

I havent detailed a car in about 15 years. I owned a 2000 Civic SI when I was younger and that was the last car I detailed. You guys really making me want to spend $110 for the package deal with the refills and towels. Best price to find this stuff? Also, im rethinking getting better car wash now too.

If you’re just doing your truck, I’d recommend just getting a bottle for 20 bucks. You should get a year out of the regular bottle.

Gotcha. You can check their site this weekend to see if they have a holiday sale. Most of us like griots towels and sprayers so if you can get a good deal on it go for it otherwise build your own cart of stuff on autogeek or detailed image idk where you are located but autogeek is in Florida and detailed image is in the northeast

So, after a few others have tried this out, it’s become apparent that you need to be very diligent with this product in warmer, humid weather. My initial uses were in February and March, and the streaking wasn’t a huge issue.
Now that myself and others have used it in the summer months, it’s definitely more pronounced. I did my Tundra a couple of weeks ago. It was around 5-6 o’clock, in the shade, after the paint had been cooled down from a wash. I had to pretty much do one spray at a time and immediately wipe it off. It dries very quickly so you have to be smart about using it.

This product is fantastic, and I’m very happy with my results. Longevity is very good, and it really does seem to keep the paint cleaner between washes. Even with the moderate difficulty, it’s still going to be my go-to sealant and I highly recommend it to everyone. I’ll just say that you need to apply it very early in the morning if you don’t have a garage you can do it in. It can be done outside in the heat, you just need to stay on top of it. Don’t try to use this in direct sunlight.

Honestly, this applies to almost every sealant on the market. Heat and humidity will cause streaking with Reload, Punch It, Duragloss, etc. I think the reason it’s more prominent with Griots 3-in-1 is that it leaves such a hard coat. It makes it much tougher to correct the streaks when they occur. With the others you can generally just spray a little more product on and wipe them off. Not so easy with this.

Beadmaker is probably the easiest I know of to use in the heat. It’s really forgiving. That said, it doesn’t contain SiO2 which I believe is the biggest factor with these others. It’s also the reason it doesn’t last as long. I’ve also applied Jescar Powerlock in pretty warm weather without much difficulty, but you’re buffing it pretty intensely anyway.

I really do think people will be very happy with this product once they give it a try.

As always, I’m no professional. Everything I say is just my own uneducated opinion and I could be way off base. @briarpatch @Ckatz53 @Swfltoyomafia @Pudge @owb2gp can you guys give your thoughts after using it? Anything you would add or correct with what I’ve said here?
I know we’ve discussed this product in several threads. I’d like to collect multiple experiences here for those who come across this thread, and hopefully get a good objective consensus from the group.
