@angrygiraffe, I appreciate the info! I assumed it required a separate bracket but all the info I could find was changing over to the heritage grille.

@PBNB, I'd take you up on that offer but that would be a heck of a drive.

What were the "Waterproof Wire connectors:" used for?

I wanted to be able to disconnect each individual light, or the whole harness quickly just in case a single light failed or toyota gave me warranty trouble for adding this. So the waterproof wire connectors are in-line just before each light and where the harness gets to the front where it is visible. Just like you have a disconnect on a fog light or headlight. These aren't required but makes swapping things out in the future easier because I all my wiring is pretty hidden.

I’m looking to do the exact same swap. How long did it take?

    What about the grill shutters?

Took me around 3 hours to do. Getting everything apart was pretty straight forward, I watched a few youtube videos that show where all the clips are to pop things off. Once you have the whole front grill/bumper assembly off, I would recommend taking pictures before you remove all the screws. There are a ton of them and it wasn't super obvious (to me at least) where they all went without pictures. Also, a second pair of hands would have saved me a lot of time on re-assembly. Putting the new grill insert in while holding this big flopping plastic thing wasn't easy by myself. Lots of clips all that have to be perfectly aligned so you don't break them off.
Once you take the whole grill/bumper assembly of, the shutters are just screwed to the back of it. That was pretty simple, just ~4 screws holding it on.

I could have sworn I saw people putting mesh behind the pro grill. What are people using, can’t seem to find the post.

Metal pet resistant window/door screen. It's useless for what people want it for. If a rock is coming at you at 70+ mph it will go through that mesh too.

@machd08, do you have the part number for your grille? I've found a couple different ones for the TRD Offroad/Sport grille, with one being more of a matte finish and the other being a glossy finish. I'm curious about your setup because mine also has the more shinny TUNDRA on the bumper compared to a lot of others that are more matted.

Anyone got an illustrated guide to all the various grilles? I have a limited with a gray version of the SR5 grille. I am considering the purchase of a TRD OR grille. I think the part number I need is 53101-0C500, which should be a matte black grille. I am mainly curious if the TRD OR grille has other color variants that I should consider.

I may have answered my own question:

It looks like with the matte black above they also have 53101-0C210 which should be a gray variant. I think they also have a gloss black one, but couldn't find that part number.

@nmk_61802 When I was searching the different TRD OR grilles, I was in the same boat as you. I found that they have a matte black one or a gloss grey one, but I did not find a gloss black one. I believe my truck should have come with the grey version of the SR5 grille, but since I have the nightshade package mine came with the black version. I ended going with the matte black TRD OR grille and I'm glad I went with that one.

Thanks for the reply, it appears like we have same year/ trim of truck. I too assumed that my truck would have had the gray grille if it would have been ordered as a TRD. I went ahead and ordered a matte black grille over the weekend to simplify the color scheme on the front. With the removal of the factor gray limited grille, and plans to get color matched flares (vs the dark gray), I should get things to a more unified color.

Were the spacers needed to mount the air dam on the heritage grill from earlier in the thread needed for the Toyota Factory TRD grills?

@Wtundra2023 I'm not sure what spacers are needed for the TRD Pro grille, if any, but I did not need any spacers going from the SR5 type grille to the TRD OR grille.

I have tried searching for this but almost everything I have seen is TRD pro related.

I have a platinum with the TRD Off Road package. I would like to remove the off road grille and install the regular platinum grille. Does anyone know if the camera bracket is compatible? Or if not, where I can get a bracket to fit the platinum grille?
