No, this is not true. They may not guarantee the fit, and decline a refund or charge a restock fee if it “doesn’t fit” and you wanted to return it, but they should still sell it to you. If they actually do refuse to sell it to you (their loss?) there are dozens and dozens of dealerships online that will!

Yeah the parts dept at Vandergriff Toyota in Arlington seem to be very lazy. He acted like I was putting him out when I called to ask about it. Thanks for the info! Ill try a few other places unless someone else here can point me in the right direction

I got my Heritage grille from Sparks! I just didn’t input a serial number.

Are you looking for the TRD grille or the TRD Pro grille (Heritage)?

They are all interchangeable. The camera mounts can be different if you have the front camera in the grille. Just make sure you order one with or without to suit your needs.

You might need a mount as well as well and you can get one in the marketplace on this site.

I found the one I was looking for on eBay actually with the light inserts, is this the Heritage grille? From what I understand this should fit no problem.

That should fit as it says OEM in the description. Not too sure about the amber lights. Those would be aftermarket. The OEM lightbar is fun to wire up but an aftermarket unit would be much easier. I expect that the one in the listing is aftermarket

That is what the Heritage or TRD Pro grille looks like.

Found this on Rave and it's the complete set. A little more pricey than buying individually but makes much more simple.

@Black22tundra, yes, that is the “Toyota heritage grille” that comes on the TRD Pro and has “TOYOTA” letters, light bar, and marker light provisions.

The TRD Off Road grille looks similar but doesn’t say “TOYOTA” and have the light provisions. It has provisions for a Toyota emblem and “TRD” embossed on the upper drivers side.
    IMG_7836.jpg
As you’ve discovered, the full kit makes it easiest but will cost a bit more. You may save a little if you piece together a solution, but beware parts may not be made work together perfectly.

Note: if you don’t have an emblem/badge you’d have to purchase to snap onto the TRD O/R grille.

At most I’ll add a light bar and nicer fog lights but it’s down on my list of things to buy, I would leave the marker lights to the raptors.

This is also where I am, 100% agreement across the board. Better fogs/driving lights before I’d do anything else. And forego markers.

It depends on the dealership. I have ordered TRD Pro parts for my SR5 and parts department manager typically uses the owner of the dealership's VIN to order anything against TRD Pro parts (if that is even necessary). Not an issue from my side of things. But I have heard that Toyota is clamping down on everyone ordering Pro parts....something like "more grills and fenders being ordered for Pros than there are Pros out there"....

What was the difference in the screw holes for camera, I have 23 Platinum, I am getting ready to order the grille, is it something spacers can make work or does it need an actual new comeres bracket?

The screw holes are all different on each grill trim level and none of them come with the camera bracket. The OEM one can only be purchased with the actual camera to the tune of $350. There are venders that sell brackets (Westcott, Rave, etc) you can purchase. I also offer 3D print brackets for sale for the TRD Pro and TRD OR/Sport grill. Check my list here if you're interested:

I took my TRD OR big "T" bracket and with a few rubber blocks, mounted this to my Heritage grille. Then after a while I found others selling the mount for about $20 bucks. The camera can be easily taken out of the big "T" bracket and installed in the smaller bracket. Look in the buy and sell section and see if you can find one there. @roboots21 has some nice brackets for sale as well.

I installed my TRD Pro Heritage grill on my SR5 today. After the install was completed and I put the bumper back I got a check engine light, a message regarding the grill shutters, and another message about the assisted brake. Has this happened to anyone? I did everything correctly so not sure why these lights/errors are coming up.

You talking about the block infront of the sensor in the lower portion portion of the grille? If so, has 2 clips and 2 wedges, on the wedges, just used a small crew drive pried gently to open it a bit and pushed it through.

Thanks to everyone who shared details on swapping out grilles on this thread. It was all super helpful!
I went from the SR5 grille (with camera) to the TRD off-road (not heritage) grille. I can't really use the extra light bar where I live and didn't want a big hole in my grille where one should go.

    Original:

    After bumper/grille removal:

    Complete:

I was originally planning on adding some raptor lights with some simple Amazon LEDs but after having read a bunch of reviews for all of those I didn't have a lot of confidence any of them would last long, so I didn't want to install lights anywhere I couldn't easily access them (don't want to have to take the front end off my truck every few months to replace a failed one). I decided to put two lights between the shutters and the radiator, attached to some of the black plastic surround above the intercooler. I was concerned you wouldn't be able to see the light at all but it actually gives off (what I think is) a pretty cool grille back/side lighting effect. The beautiful thing about where I placed these is that I can easily access them from the top, without needing to remove any other parts. I soldered in a bunch of disconnect points as well with waterproof connectors so everything is easily disconnected when something fails or if I decide to add more lights.

That looks good! can you provide some more details of the grill lights used (pics, info) and where you connected to? Was thinking about a grill swap (Platinum to Pro) but not sure yet. This may be an option to be different and see how it looks!

If someone wants a TRD grille with the OEM black overlay on the Toyota logo, I will give it to you. I am in the northern Utah area. It is in new condition. I’m gonna throw it away soon, so let me know (pick up only). Been trying to get rid of it for a while and nobody wants it
