tundra3.jpg Hey Guys Gals will a 2014 grill insert fit on a 2017 grill? I am setting up to buy one today. If you know please respond. Also what do you think about a 2014 black insert with the surround color matched?

    Thanks

Yes it’ll fit. Not fun trying to get that insert out the first time though. If you break a couple tabs it’s ok. And the insert from a 14 I believe is dark grey, not black. It will be slightly lighter than the black lower valance.

Here’s a ‘15. 14’s should be the same. It’s very dark grey but definitely noticeable.

You can always get a Pro grille insert. Those are black.

I was thinking about putting rino liner on my caps and bumper, what do you think about that? My plan is to buy platinum color matched then swap out the chrome with black insert, but something different than the TRD Pro one. I do like the honeycomb on the 18's but I don't know if they will fit and the price. Got a guy selling the 14 insert for 60.00 thought it might work out.

Yes it will fit. Just make sure you do your swap/removal on a warm day

I personally like the surround and bumper caps color matched. But the rino liner on the caps is ok, just not on the surround. The honeycomb will fit, just need to buy the emblem replacement.

Maybe after I buy the new surround I will just paint the center on my old one and see how that turns out.

So you’re buying a color matched surround with the grey insert? I plastidipped mine originally but that sucked. Always looked dirty.

Because you have an excuse to drink more beer to stay hydrated. And yes, the plastic is more pliable.

Im buying the platinum surround and may take the chrome out of that and replace with a black insert.
