As I begin to fall deeper into the world of modifications and potential modifications. There are a few changes I have my eye on. One of which, is changing out the grill insert on my Rock Warrior. I have read a bit, watched some videos. Honestly, it seems a bit frightening to begin chopping and hacking on my perfectly "good" grill with the hopes of an upgrade.

I see the Trex Billet grill 20961B is on sale at Trex for about $150, which is less than the $225 that everyone else is listing it for. In she scheme of things those price points are beneath what could be out there.

So...has anyone got to chopping and modifying, gone a wee bit too far, and regretted the project? Is it as straight forward as it seems on YouTube? In general the people who have done this, are you happy with it? The stock grills lean a bit to the lame side in my opinion compared to what else is out there. Just always a bit nervous before the cutters come out. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

Well, I took the plunge and bought this billet grille from TRex. It was $149 shipped. I had checked with 4wheel parts on installation, as I was a bit nervous to start cutting and hacking on the grille myself. They quoted $240 to do it. I reluctantly decided I would give it a go. Honestly, the most nervous part was removing the surround from the truck. Once I finally figured out how...it went pretty smooth. I cut the grill insert out with an oscillating tool. Overall, I think it took 2 hours. If I were to do it again...I bet it could/should have been about 45 minutes worth. Overall Trex grille is pretty good, directions were adequate. Happy camper at this point.

I like the look of mesh...but my wallet liked the billet more, lol. Plus, I am eagerly awaiting my 6" Bam system from Dirty Deeds. Patience...not my strong suit.
