    Hello AND happy Monday Y'all..

I just got my Tundra Quicksand last Week Sunday and I AM LOVING It.

Need your kind input on what would be a nice Grill / Bull Bar that will not affect the Sensors. I actually ordered 1 (attached) but have to cancel it when I Learned this morning that there is a sensor at the Grill/Emblem.

    Appreciate your time.

I've seen one member on here cut the screen mesh out for just the sensor area

    what he said...

I have that Westin grill guard and love it. It is very solidly built. The fit and look to the contours of the truck is excellent. It will not interfere with parking sensors but the grill mesh surly will.
You would have to check with others who have removed the mesh on theirs. I remember reading a thread recently on a grill guard a member did the center sensor hack by removing a section of the screen, but it was not a Westin. I think the two vertical tubes on the Westin might present an issue as well.

One full year. No issues with cutting the mess out. I could have left more in but I didn’t want to chance it and take it on and off a bunch of times.
The millimeter wave sensor has a 5 degree vertical and 20 degree horizontal field

Well noted and I truly appreciate the input advise.

I will probably go ahead and order this and just have it cut-out on the middle. If anyone could kindly post their pics of the awesome Tundra with a Grill installed will be truly appreciated.

Thank you again and Ride safe.

Did you cut/saw off the grill infront of the Emblem ? Was the there any issues or part of the truck that needs to be taken out permanently ?

    Thank you for your time.

Yes I took a grinder to my 1200 ranch hand and painted the grill. If you don’t want to do that ranch hand will make one for you without the mess from the factory and it will be powder coated. It’s non returnable but you could probably leave more of the mesh in if you wanted

This is hilarious, so many Tundras out there with these mods and no problems, and why build a truck you can’t mod? Toyota must be cracked out thinking if the suspension needs replacement I’m gonna call the dealer. So I guess all the lifted trucks they sell aren’t up to standards? Lame, try again Yota!

First time Tundra owner. Just bought a 2018 and wanted to add a Tough Country brush guard, but had the same concerns. Does anyone know if thw mess on the Tough Country can be cut and adapted to work with messing up the ACC?

IMO This is a “risk management” response. You should not be able get an individual or “person” in a corporation to alter on the consumer end, what directives they have from regulators on the manufacturing side because, if they have good lawyers (risk management), they will NOT ever compromise any potential defense. Anything you do or have done to your truck outside of their direct responsibility (or profit), can be and is fair game to be challenged in court... by them. Doesn’t mean they would win, but a door is opened and Lawyers like doors and windows... and cracks....

The sensor behind the Toyota emblem can see forward through the mesh? I have a 18 TRD Limited and a light snow causes problems?
