Hello to all. I have a 2001 dark green Tundra TRD. I bought it about 4 years ago with 87,000 miles and I currently have close to 150,000 on it. It has been one of the better vehicles I have ever owned and definitely the best truck I have ever owned. I hope to gain some insights from this site as the miles roll up and different systems start to need attention. I have had two instances in which the truck wasn't running 100% and no "check engine light" was thrown to try to diagnose the issue. The first time it happened, the truck received a major tune-up at about the 95,000 mile mark. It began to miss while both idling and in Drive and under acceleration, but no CEL. Fortunately, the repair shop said that they had run into issues with new, replacement spark plugs that were not firing correctly. They replaced all of spark plugs a second time and the problem went away. More recently, the truck has started buck and lug under acceleration, but only intermittently. Again, no CEL. I am hoping people on this site who have had similar experiences will steer me in the right direction when trying to figure out what to do next. The repair shop apparently lives and dies by the CEL, so if there isn't one, they just roll their eyes because it could be any one of many systems causing the problem but not throwing a code.

I’ve had my 2002 since new and she sits at 158k miles. Never had a breakdown problem except for a bad ignition coil in which I still limped back.

    Stealerships/service stations do the basics.

Here are some preventative maintenance things that are easy for DIY (that dealerships over look?). Clean your throttle body/tighten throttle cable and clean your MAF Sensor. Change your transmission fluid. Clean your PCV valve and its port in which it sits. Change your gas filter.

Try better quality gas. Not sure what you use? Maybe run some fuel injector cleaner through a tankfull.

Welcome. Kinda sounds like fuel delivery. I'd start by checking the filter.
