New member and a recent Tacoma convert. Currently stationed in Okinawa but am heading back stateside in July. I had my heart set on buying a new Tacoma, but fell in love with a Blazing Blue Tundra on my dealers website so I bought it and had my dad pick it up until I get back. Now I am just counting the days until I get to see it.

Welcome from CO. Semper Fi. Was stationed at MCAS Iwakuni, mainland. Made 5 TAD deployments to Kadena AFB for operation Thundershoot. 80 to 84. We kicked the Air Forces' F-15/16's butts with old A-4's and F-4's every time. Nothing new. heh...heh All about the aviators and maintenance crews = #1 in operational readiness five years in a row.

I actually live on Kadena but work up on Camp Courtney with 3D Marine Division. Oki has been fun, but I can't wait to get home. Fish and rice can't replace beef and potatoes.

Miss going to Chappy James chow hall. Real food compared USMC fare back in the day. We always set up our squadron in the hangar next to the SR-71 hanger on the far side. Blackbirds were something else. Oki has some of the best scuba diving on the planet. (And Charlies Tacos)
