I've got the same damn thing happening in my 2014 SR5! I didn't realize it was such a common thing. I bought mine brand new from the dealer. Wonder if I can get them to fix it.

In for my 15k mile service and still no response from the regional rep in reguards to this issue.

Brought it to their attention at my 10k mile service. They took pictures again this time and are sending it to the regional rep yet again.....hope this doesn't get dragged out to far. Brand new truck with alien spots get outta town :alien:.

I have the same spot! Didn't notice until after I took it home as I bought the car late at night, but since it is small and in the back, I didn't worry too much. Now I wonder if this will be come a bigger problem. Will ask at first oil change.

I have the same thing happening to mine. Seems to be at "stress points" on the doors. Haven't had it show up anywhere else. Gonna call Toyota on this one.

So finally after 5 different orders, I got all of my door panels replaced.
I had same stress points shown in different location on all of the panels since 5K.
Toyota regional rep came out, 5 seconds later "Replace" was heard.
Now I just need same luck on my leather seat and arm rest.

    Hopefully this would help someone.

Had my driver's side replaced due to premature wear and now again drivers and armrest look worst than my wife's 10 year old Rav4.

Hoping to have them take a look at it whenever I bring it in for the pesky squeak in the back (which coincidentally hasnt been quite as bad the last few days for whatever reason).

Yep, I got at least 3 or 4 spots... and at least one big one at the pressure point passenger side panel. I just thought it was from someone that may have kicked the door a little too hard getting into the truck... wasnt happy about it but then I found 2 more at least, smaller spots but still.
That's great that they are replacing the panels (for some), but if the issue isn't fixed from manufacturing, then it will probably just come right back. So I'm a little confused why everyone wants them replaced so bad if its just going to come right back?

Seriously, does the heat gun truck keep these spots gone or is it a temporary fix?

I think many are under the impression that it was a bad batch of plastics from Toyota and that they have since corrected the issue. Hoping that this is the case anyway.

I recently noticed a small green spot in my 2016 CM on the driver's side panel toward the top/front near the window. I'm going to bring it in when I hit 5k miles to have the tires rotated and I'll have them look at it. Probably about the size of a Jelly Belly (not sure why I chose that as a reference, but I did). I purchased the stain guard stuff (I know - a giant ripoff) so I'll see first what Toyota says, but supposedly the treatment stuff protects stains/discoloration from all of the interior.

Here is mine. 2016 CM SR5 TRD. Driver's side door panel, doesn't seem to be on a spot that flexes or anything. Only one I have noticed thus far. Magically appeared a couple months ago, will take into dealer at 5k service. Hopefully Toyota has it figured out and hopefully dealer fixes it.

Same issues for me. 16 Tundra Pro, three green spots, one on drivers seat side, one on drivers door and one on the rear passenger seat lower plastic. Also the annoying bed squeak that service can't seem to figure out.

I just got back from my local dealership and showed them spots on all 4 doors and trim of passenger seat. Claim denied. Service Mgr said even the senior tech that owns a Tundra couldn't get his replaced. And he went to one of the regional reps. I figure I'll give Toyota a call to complain and see what happens.

To be honest they didn't have one. The service tech agreed that they shouldn't be there but said that Toyota won't authorize the repairs.

My dealership will not replace the panels under warranty. While the service manager was looking at it, he was telling me he has never seen this before in his "10 years of working for Toyota" (go figure) and as one of the techs walked by, the manager asked the tech if he had ever seen this. The tech said "yeah, my 2014 as the same marks." But, the tech further explained that a few weeks ago, a 2016 Rav4 came in for these same marks and the dealership replaced the panels under warranty, but then mother Toyota rejected the claim, so the dealership had to eat the cost. So, the service manager took pictures and sent it to the rep. They called me the next day and said no.

What should my next step be? Call Toyota? Demand a meeting with the regional rep?

I showed the dealer where I bought the truck during my 5k service the green spot on the driver's side door panel. They ordered a new door panel and just replaced it with no questions asked. Not sure if that is standard for everyone, but was happy to see my dealer step up and get it fixed.

As a tech I would just order it under warranty without question. These types of spots are normally from stress and are much more visible on black panels. Normally you will find a plastic weld reinforcement section on the back side of the panel with a spot like this. Usually they are found where a clip stuck a little too well when the door panel was removed. Can also be caused by stress from open/close operations or over filling cup holders/door storage.

@RowdyRon this is basically what I'm talking about. This is the stress point at the side of the cupholder. You would honestly be surprised how often and how hard door panels can get kicked without even noticing it. I'm not saying @tat2ude39 did anything wrong, these things happen. One of the most common culprits for door panel stress damage is window tinting.

I'll have to look at a couple. I'm not sure I've seen those little doors fade. I'm pretty sure they can be ordered by themselves but I don't think I've seen them do that.
