We see far to often that possessing a handgun can defy legal ownership age. Be careful out there...

Now just to clarify this, I lived in Montana, in the mountains a lot, and used this weapon for the many things that could have easily snuffed me out.

I wasn't carrying it around all the time.

Thing that bothered me most was the young kid was too big a pussy to go protect his girl. As soon as he approached her, he should have stepped up like a man. Even if you get your ass handed to you. He said he knew the big crazy out of control dude wouldn't hit a girl??? Man... just admit you were too skerred.

I would have made him come through the window by breaking it. Done deal.

Then again, I wouldn't be a dick and not let someone else pass either. This is a steep, narrow, dangerous road. No room to be dicking around.

Yup, if someone comes up behind you, you should let him pass first chance you get. Especially in a damn Subaru. :D I bet he was blocking him for awhile and purposely not letting him pass. Still doesn't give that guy the right to hit anyone, but I'd understand why he's upset.

Guys, I'm only a civilian volunteer for a local dept, but have been active for 16 years as such so majority of any response I give is going to be from first hand experience.

Yes- you have a right to defend yourself, but laws vary state to state as far as anything over self defense. Here's an example:

Assault- let's say someone punches me and I hit him and he's on the ground. What happens if I keep striking him? I can be charged for assault. If I hit him in defense and he stops- it's done. This is where many can get charged...they don't stop even when they have stopped engaging themselves.

I don't know all the rules like ice said before but the #1 that I do and hear preached over and over is if you can get away without using it or you do that. It's got to be the last option you have. Scary slope when you decide to pull that out.. so everyone be careful and be aware of any situation you might end up in.. cheers

I would also get a new dog. Lol.

The dog I just put down was a mix Akita/Shepard mix that I would not rely on if the time came. I knew that. Now my other dog is old, but I have personally seen him corner somone.

My late Rottweiler earned his keep twice as well. Two separate times people were bleeding and most likely hurt pretty bad. No F's given.

Some great wisdom from a "50" year old. Lol.

No seriously, that is a great way to say it. If you draw a weapon, you better use it right away.

A little this and that...Broke now
Ok I'll chime in with 20 years of law enforcement and dozens of critical incidents including active school shooter and one balls out gnarly 15 minute shoot out...Lemme throw out some givens: each incident is case by case.In Commiefornia your life or the life of someone else must be in danger or in danger of great bodily harm..based on what we saw small skinny dude pissed off big burly dude..once at a stop we see who the primary aggressor is ..he brought the fight to the little kid...so what are his options? drive off, call for help, stay in the car and call for help if your too scared, or get out and deal with the threat right in front of you..getting popped in the face twice does not justify escalating to lethal force unless there are some factors like i was losing consciousness and would be left defenseless. Referring to my off handed comment above, I put myself in the kids shoes without clarifying that..I have serious medical issues, internal injuries and only have the use of one arm.I know I can be rendered unconscious or incapacitated fairly quickly ..So my threshold to escalate from non-lethal to lethal is far shorter than the average citizen. Ultimately I as well as any will be held accountable for every round I send downrange..back drop and environmental factors to be calculated as well. Sometimes in life you take an asswhoopin. And defending your wife or girlfriend is one of those times. I would have gotten out of the car dealt win lose or draw.

Here is an article from the area I am from regarding road rage.

Both drivers pulled over for confrontation. One driver exited his vehicle, armed with a baseball bat and struck the other who was armed with a folding knife. What's to say the driver with the knife only armed himself with it after viewing the guy with a baseball bat (deadly)

Just not worth it guys- it truly isnt. Over what? Someone cut you off? other driver is going to slow so you decide to follow too closely (tail-gating..hefty fine- FYI) and now you're in an accident where you are at fault, and/or may be charged criminally followed by civil court? come on now.

If you both go on with your day you can avoid all of this and not have your vehicle impounded, face charges, be hurt, get someone else hurt, etc.

^^Some good advice. I have always been slightly aggressive when driving and have had a couple minor confrontations in the past (none were my fault of course). But this all changed when I my wife had our first kid 2 months ago. Now I am a completely different driver and more aware of my surroundings. In a way I now consider myself a community driver where I am part of a pack with the cars around me as before it was just about me lol.

Both of these statements are pretty much how I feel and have said.. it really has to be some life threading chit to pull your pistol and kill... they will always look and ask you did you try every option to get away before doing it?? And you'll always be judged on your decision. Getting punched in the face for sure isn't enough to pull it out, because he slapped him a few times and walked away.. he didn't continue to pummel him..

About the bat situation, I don't know the rules for this as well.. that is indeed a deadly weapon with one blow... does a man actually have to get cracked in the head to be able to use deadly force? The man walking towards you about to hit you can be cause for just action?? Not in car where you can drive away or leave.. I'm talking about you in the street and cNt get away?

I think it turned serious because of the laws, different states , and people are wondering what can actually be done in that situation.. it just hits close to home to be honest and in my opinion
