So I figured out that if there’s two wires that are connected to the Amber bulb in the center of the Nets mainly a turn signal and if there’s three wires in the amber bar is a turn signal and can be a parking light. Mine only has two wires so the Amber doesn’t work as. Parking light.

now I do know that even though you have two wires to that bulb there are a couple ways to make that center Amber a parking light. One of which is splicing into the second wire…

Thank you to Shanet421, your advice fixed my issue with the Alpha Rex always running Amber DRL. The three wire plug was delivered plugged into another socket on the headlight. I had to disconnect that to plug one end into the factory turn signal 3-wire plug. The other end plugged into the back of the turn signal bulb. Now the white DRL is on all the time AND the sequential turn signal works.

FYI, for those who actually want the full time amber DRL, keep the 3-wire plugs on the back of the Alpha Rex headlight plugged in as it is shipped.

I just replaced my 08 with the pros and upgraded to a 14 with the Nova gen2. I've tried everything and i cannot get the amber function to work as drl & park with sequential. Ive plugged in all harness. As it stands here is how it is wired and the end results...

With the below wiring my start up display starts amber then white and stays white. My drl stays white in all functions. My sequential does turn amber.
    1) black harness -factory truck gray harness, 2) gray harness - gray factory light plug, 3) im using led switchback bulbs as turn signal bulbs with resistors installed.

When i plug in the corner light harness the amber stays on at all times and the drl does not work as turn signal.

When i tried plugging the alpharex black and gray harnesses together and plug vehicle factory turn signal wire into light bulb no sequential function nor white drl.

Im looking for amber all time except when headlights are on. What am i not understanding?

Correct. When I plugged the Alpha Rex harness to itself and plugged the factory turn signal wire directly to the turn signal bulb, the DRL stay amber (if that's what you want), but the sequential turn signal is gone AND no white DRL.

This makes no sense. $1000 headache just to get things working right. Aint easy in 28 degree weather.

First pair I would assume I received 08/06/2021
Second pair of Alpha Rex 06/26/22 failed 11/24/22

First sign of hope when I received the new Toyota OEM headlights.

well dang, for the price of the NOVA's you'd figure they'd last longer.

I'm about to hit 3 years with my first gen NOVA's but I know it's not always going to be the same for everyone, just one out of many. On a side note I did purchase a set of the NOVAs on Amazon that have the amber function to upgrade my first gens before alpharex released the new G2 NOVA. Unfortunately only half the DRL lit up on both of them so returned them and kept my first gen NOVAs. Figured since I haven't had any issues with them why change them, and I'm still happy with them. Hopefully the OEM leds workout great for you.

So the difference between the two I am not here to bash just point out.

    HR4.jpg

The Alpha Rex DRL is a smoked ring, were as the Toyota is more of a crisp ring.i think it may be the way it is cut.

Yeah, I didn’t want to deal with any aftermarket stuff. I use to be a big fan of Morimoto but the last few time I used them, they failed me. The price on their tundra headlights was crazy. Didn’t want to take another chance with them. So I went OEM. Can’t beat Toyota quality.

So after hours and hours of trouble shooting. Seems like there is a bypass by alpha that not many have been aware of. Apparently for some reasons the built in relay box on the novs has to be disconnected and then the 2 yellownwire pigtailsncoming from the turn signal harness go together. Wala..... amber drl, park mode. Sequential turn. White drl while headlights on.

I gotta say these gen2's are bright as hell when compared to the pros i had on the 08.

Sorry to re question this thread but have questions on the alpha Rex and hope someone can explain why. I was looking at buying a pair but damn you guys had some issues. My issue was that a negative and positive wire have to connect to the battery and a fuse in the fuse box. I also see when the headlight are on or parking light the turn signal lights up. But on my truck the turn signal only lights up when using it. My DRL is LED I don’t want it too. So if you buy and install these no matter what you have to do the battery, fuse and the turn signal will glow?

Just curious on what issues you had. You don't hear too many with Morimotos.
