Got my BLACKSTONE report back for my 2021 Tundra using AMSOIL. Here are the results.

I just hit 50k the other day. Waiting on warmer weather to do the drain and fill now. There’s no way I would wait for 100,000. That’s just ridiculous.

 

got mine at 30k. Made a difference in my head at least.

I run only amsoil fluids in all my vehicles. I like hyped bullshit that works well.

 

I ran some in the wife’s 2010 rav4 but honestly I couldn’t tell a different but in the tundra i could tell right away. Not sure why.

Anyway back to oil. Run what ya want but by my experience Mobile 1 and amsoil are awesome. Inside the FJ at 292,000 miles Mobile one only then Amsoil switch at 275k

 

I was and have been running pennzoil platinum on both vehicles up to this point. I am switching to pennzoil ultra platinum on the wife’s ride. My buddy with the 2016 sr5 been on mobil 1 since we started doing our own oil change. Prior to that he went to the dealership to get it done. He’s happy with mobil 1. Then again he’s not a car guy. He run whatever they put in.

 

Wow. Looks likes the amsoil has almost completely removed the sludge from the mobil 1.

 

That might of been the snake oil I poured in before the switch

 

Here’s 2 samples from my supercharged truck.
The 5000 mile sample was Pennzoil Ultra Plat 5w30.
The 4000 miles was Amsoil Signature 5w30.

Besides some extra moly, I don’t see much difference. Does anyone else think the Amsoil is worth twice the price based on these results?

 

Well, almost twice.. by my calculations it’s about $40-$50 different..
I just paid $127. ($16 member renewal, $88 2 gal sig series 5w30, and $15 for filter, plus 7% tax). Free shipping.
Amazon had the pennzoil ultra platinum at $29/gal jug. So roughly $81.32 with the $15 filter and tax..
Amsoil: $127
Pennzoil: $81
But you also get 2 extra quart with pennzoil.
The amsoil jug is actually only 4qt each jug. Whereas pennzoil is a 5qt jug.

amsoil: $11/qt
Pennzoil: $6/qt

It would be around $115 for the amsoil with filter if you get 10qt total. Then depends if shipping is free or not.

so, if i were to stick with amsoil. I would pay $127 each year vs $81 for my annually oil change. I put in about 5k a year. Not much driving.

My 2021 is really noisy with every brand and weight of oil that I tried, now I run Amsoil 5w30 and it's silent. I hear the injectors, not the noisy valve train. I change it every 10k and have no issues.

I also run Amsoil trans fluid in my power steering, it's much quieter thet the other fluids that I've tried

 

How did you go about replacing the power steering fluid?

 

Sucked the old fluid out of the the reservoir and then refilled it. Ran it while cranking the wheel right to left, sucked out the fluid and refilled it - wash, rinse, repeat until I had gone through 3 quarts of new fluid. The pump got quieter after the second fill and was almost silent when I was done.

There is probably a better, more through way to do it, but it worked and was easy.

 

I will add this to the list. 3qt is good enough?

 

That's what I used. I believe the system holds 2ish quarts, so I went 3 to make sure I got most of the old stuff out. Really no different than a drain and fill on a transmission.

 

360k on a 2010 have had amsoil in it since 140ish. I done the timming chain over 40k ago and it was very clean in the pans. Big fan of it and run it in all my cars and quads. 15k intervals in cars. My 2015 camry I bought new now has 320k on it and it's been amsoil since 40k miles flawless and all original parts other than reg maintenance stuff.
