Many hospitals have no patients and are shutting down activities because of one size fits all bs. My 95 year old mom is safely locked down in a super nice care home. Perfect! In the mean time the world goes on and lockdowns are being lifted with social guidelines..in almost every state. Some folks can't sit around any longer. I might get Roadhouse take out tomorrow...

True story. My wife works at the hospital and they have been dead. Doing whatever they can to get hours and working crazy shifts. Still not enough patients. With us opening more they have been a bit busier.

All this talk about Roadhouse is making me hungry for a steak. Taking the wife out tomorrow night to a locally owned place. She just finished her master's degree today. Time to celebrate!

People can't get health screenings that they need, including me, with perfectly good hospitals to go to. I can wait but some folks can't and how many thousands of folks will die of cancer for example because they couldn't get screened? Glad the OP used common sense and took advantage of his lockdown being lifted. Be safe. Social distance.

That's bad and has to be hard on you. The nurses at my mom's care facility are pretty much not going home for safety reasons. For quite some time now. Can't be easy at all. It's crazy because some hospitals are letting staff go because of not enough patients. There must be a better way.

Agreed. My mother in law wouldn't have lived through all of this. She had a kidney transplant along with many other medical needs where she was at the hospital weekly. We lost her last year unfortunately.

So this is your experience but you think it's time to open the country up?

People die from lots of causes all the time; do you really think that you're going to stop people from getting any ailment? Why not shut the country down until all of the other flu strains or HIV disappear as well? When did "flattening the curve" turn into having zero cases? Some people don't get that most of the country is not like a few northeastern states and that our rights didn't just vanish because of another virus. What kind of a society only deals with one problem at a time to the exclusion of all others? How many people are going to die because they couldn't get a "non-essential" service such as a cancer screening in time?

<--- this! @Jim the Jarhead - ordered several times during stay at home. The family meal was a deal and there steaks aren't Ruth's/Fleming's/etc. But they're way better than those tough Outback turf they call steak.

Georgia began opening up April 27th... today's data shows that our coronavirus related hospitalizations has dropped since the state started to open up. We have less than 1000 hospitalized because of Corona statewide.
