@ColoradoTJ if they suspected that your prostate was enlarged it could have been cancer. Why the fuck would they not even initially check to confirm enlarged and then screen for cancer?

The only thing I fucking hate more than getting older is NOT getting older. I cannot relate to what you are going through but in February I found out I have gout:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: the pain was immutable for 3 days and would keep me awake along with not being able to walk of put my shoe on, turns out red meat and beer triggered it :(. I hope you return %100 health soon.

I was so pissed off at the whole process. However, in the end, I did see a total 100% recovery. Believe it or not, from the research I had done for hip nerve pain was 8-10 years, if ever.

Second opinions, asking the right questions is key. Taking a retired nurse that has vested interest in your full recovery is a great idea. Even better this nurse is your Mom.

When I heard about what happened, I immediately went “worse case scenario” in my mind due to my experience.

Lol. All kidding aside....damn good idea.

We actually have some great resources on here for health. I used to text some of them with constant questions, and they were greatful to help. I stopped since I should find someone local and pay for their services. We know whom those individuals are, and starting threads is probably the best way to go about asking questions.

Ha!!! Probably more than I care to admit.

Tonight I can cover how my right wrist problem almost lead to me having a fused one at 23 years old. That was a real treat.

I thought that was weird as well. That is why I revisited this line of thinking had a second opinion and a real exam.

Now the NP that I originally had did a bunch of blood work, and that did include some screening. My head was in a tornado of pain, appointment, disappointments, family life, work life, building a Jeep, my wife’s big accident, home remodel. I was like “damn”.

Ouch ouch and a kick to the nuts. They call it the rich mans disease (shell fish, meats, alcohol) and that looks very painful.

100% chance you work on your feet all day as well.

Reading everyones stories here, I am very fortunate my wife works in the medical field and her employer provides free insurance. No deductibles, our co-pays are $10, if you're admitted= free, $5 script, $50 surgery if same day discharge. I paid $50 to be snipped five years ago. Cant beat that! $50 for knee surgery (x2)

I had gout once, although it didn't look nearly as terrible. I recall burning, stabbing pain and almost impossible to walk. My uric acid levels were high and out of range. I didn't want to take medication so I adjusted my diet and limited high purine food, i.e., red meat and beer, etc. Not sure if my "cure" method is working but I drink a tablespoon of organic unfiltered apple cider vinegar twice a day mixed with half a lemon or lime and 16 ounces of water plus a ton of water daily. The ACV is suppose to help make your body less acetic and break down uric acid crystals. I haven't had gout attack since so I wont stop the daily tonic.
