If you made it through the gatekeeper without any damage, then kudos. Seen plenty of Jeeps on 35s get high centered on the gate keeper. Did you hit it backwards by chance with the gate keeper at the end? There are also some really sketch parts with wheelbase, especially a wheel base as long as our trucks have.

Also, kudos for picking terrorist tan. Probably the best color there is.

First couple pics look like Little JB at the end of Jacoby Cyn. The last 3 at Gold Mtn. you had some good spotters and stackers!

Got any pics from the John Bull trail? Curious to see a Tundra navigate that rock garden.

Relax guys. He probably doesn't know the area that well. There's no way he went through the hard part of John Bull. But even going through the east part is pretty respectable.

True Alex. I guess some of us who have run JB are very interested in seeing a full size truck, a new one at that, conquer the JB gatekeeper. So far no pics from John Bull so maybe we're a bit skeptical.

I watched a regular cab 1 ton chevy on 40" tire do the gatekeeper once.

there is no way a tundra can do it...

Unless the gatekeeper gets rearranged. They do that sometimes. but I believe the rangers try to keep it challenging for short wheel base on 40" on a regular basis

That’s where my comment stemmed from. JB gets way easier towards the end if you start at the gatekeeper and you’re normally going down hill. He’s going up.

Bombed this trail probably a dozen times in my jeep. Definitely one of my favorites along with the waterfall at dishpan springs.

Lack of photos on the gatekeeper is why I'm skeptical, too. I've done that area in my FJ Cruiser years ago and there was no way a stock full-size truck would make it through it without damage. So he must've done a different section or trail; subsequently, people could've moved the rocks around enough to make it easier -- if his group spent an hour or two moving rocks around then sure he'd maybe get through the gatekeeper without damage.

Them be some giant rocks to move at the gatekeeper! Granted I haven't been there in a couple yrs now, but I doubt the huge rocks have been moved.

I spoke with two rangers in 2016 who told me that occasionally they bring tractors out there and arrange the rocks at gatekeeper to make sure it remains a black diamond trail

Cant speak much for folks that make 4x4 trails "easier", but I HATE when people samitize my MTB trails bc they can't "clean" a certain section. I CAN!!! Leave it ALONE...

We have a saying in Colorado about stacking rocks. In Denver, Colefax Blvd has the hookers and usually is a rough road.

That being said, when people stack rocks on trails, I usually spout out “your making it look like Colefax without the hookers”!

I ride MTB also and I agree. But I'm lucky; we have some local guys that spend a lot of time working trails in our area. They concentrate on creating nice berms and lips, but they also preserve the rock gardens.
