Hate to be Debbie Downer but my 6 mo truck had a rattling back window and the moon roof rattles and I need to schedule service to have that fixed. I live across the street from a Toyota dealer so not a huge deal for me.

If you don’t mind me asking. What did you pay for your truck?

I would never pay $70k for a truck, but just FYI the Tundra has it's interior rattles too. Some are easy fixes, others are mysteries that come and go with different outside temps. And it's not on all tundras.

You made a good choice for your needs and long term goals. 5k lbs isn’t really a lot of trailer for the Tundra, and doesn’t even require a LDH until 5k lbs or more. Towing an enclosed will cause more drag, and I’ve never done any calculations on drag vs weight comparisons, but it will probably feel like your towing 6k lbs.

I am by no means a Ram fan (owned two dodges and that was enough), and my trucks were pre-emissions trucks that were total POS. In your situation, I would just pay a little more in the fuel department and be happy with what fuel mileage you get.

Plasti dip or get black overlays for the chrome badges. Bigger tires make a huge difference also. 275/55/20 look small and the low profile sidewall don't help the ride

Well you can't beat the gas mileage and the torque a diesel has. Even if Diesel fuel was 25% higher in price you are still going to win with the diesel. The only problem I see is it's in a Dodge. My friend has one, it's cool, but always breaking something, and the upgrades he had to do. Forget it. If you have to tow something that is beyond the Tundra's capability then I can say yea. Cummins is awesome.

Just like anything else there are good and bad diesel equipped trucks of all makes. I own an 18 Ford and have had Dodges with the Cummins engines in the past. Even though I haven’t had any issues with my current one (45k miles) I will not own a diesel pickup of any make out of warranty. The emissions systems are very complex and expensive, too expensive for me to want to take on the risk of having to foot the bill if something serious goes wrong.
