Of course, when I was really young, it was Mickey Mouse Club, Howdy Doody, Captain Kangaroo and Looney Toons.

Growing up in the 70s as a kid, my reading material consisted mostly of “Peanuts” and “Harold and the Purple Crayon”. :D

Who had time for reading when you’re outside building jump ramps for your banana seat bike with ape hanger handle bars? :notsure:

Besides you couldn’t go inside before the street lights came on and when you did, you always end up fighting with the 5 other siblings over the TV channel waiting to see who’s going to spin the dial fast enough to break it.

I guess I should have written:
Any of you that enjoy reading books NOW:rolleyes: But never mind; you fellas that read my comment as a listing reading as a childhood pastime, are probably not gonna dedicate attention to reading a book just for fun. Now. :p

At 55, I am not as old as some on here, but I remember watching original episodes of The Lone Ranger and Superman when I was a little boy. And growing up with all the hit shows of the 70's and early 80's. I pretty much dropped all TV watching when I went to college and through the 90's. I was very disappointed in what was available when I started watching again in the 2000's. Even my kids preferred shows from the 70's and 80's to what was on TV when they were young. Most recently, my wife and I have rediscovered Head of the Class. Pretty funny stuff!

We would leave in the morning and not come home until after dark.

My bike as a little kid as a Sears Spyder 5 speed.
My Mom worked at Sears in advertising..

Then in '76 I got a Sears Ted Willams bicentennial 10-speed..

By then we were sneaking our parent's liquor and beer out of the house and hanging out drinking in the street..

Anybody remember a detective show called Hawaiian Eye? Was black and white maybe late 60's. And of course the Little Rascals, Leave It to Beaver, the Beverly Hillbillies, Batman, Superman, science fiction show called UFO, and also of course Lost in Space. I actually have the DVD box set of that show.

If they are at the mall telling off their genx-millennial parents they are gen z

If they yell “ok boomer” they are a millennial

if they are largely ignored and don’t give a damn about any of this, they are GenX

If they are yelling at a millennial calling them lazy or whatever, they are boomer.

If they are the “greatest generation” they are probably dead.

Or so the GenZ’s tell me anyway….

58 here. I remember watching Laverne & Shirley as well as Happy Days. Rest her soul. I recall watching claymation show called David and Goliath along with H&R Puff and Stuff on Saturday mornings. They were obviously puffing on something! I would then finish up the weekend Sunday evening watching the Wonderful World of Disney before going to bed. My favorite show though was Bah Bah Black Sheep.

I wish I still had my dads truck nowadays. He had either a 75 or 76 calf shit yellow with a white hard top Chevy Blazer. I took it many of times with friends 4 wheelin in the early 80’s. Dad never confronted me about the mud and scratches. Pretty cool dad.
