He should be getting better soon. Poor guy. Still no idea why he got this. hes never had any trouble.

They want to sedate him and flush out his ear.
I can't afford that at all.
She tried to flush it out and only got a little bit of in the ear before he over powered her and shook it out
The vet said don't let him shake it out, that's going to be impossible.

They told her to fill his ear with cleaner and then massage it ,then let it drain out and wipe it out
    Without him shaking his head.

There is no way in hell he will let us do that.

Jerry, we had the same problem with our Bulldog who hated putting medicine in his ears. The only thing that worked for us to a certain point was having my wife behind him in a hug position around his chest/neck. Me in front with the medicine and some treats, i squirt the medicine in fast as the wife pulls down his ears and starts massaging the medicine while i tell him about all these tasty treats he's about to get. He was still mad, but he's a dog, and treats seemed more important than his itchy ears.:) Good luck with your dog.

Posatex is good shit. Put the nozzle in in the ear canal and squeeze for 3 seconds, done. If u can’t massage it in then so be it. Give gabapentin first wait an hour then try meds. Good luck.

He sleeps on my side of the bed, that's the perfect time to get the posatex in the ear.
Just attack him at night in his sleep. Gonna try that,at least it gets in there

His ear problem is that his brain produces a chemical that blocks the sound of my commands...

    I'm home with him now.

I've been able to clean out his ear and get most of nasty brown stuff out. Lots of growling but I'm staying calm and petting him telling him I'm trying to help him.

I've been petting both ears to show him it doesn't always hurt.

Going to give him the medical drops and hope for the best.

Look at that sad face...he knows. He just wants you to know how bad it hurts. Each time will get easier as his ear improves.

Great to hear! Sometimes being the "dad" is tough. You're just lucky your wife/SO isn't into toy poodles...they have ANAL glands that need to be drained. Yes, I said ANAL glands.:eek2:

Glad he's on the mend. Posatex should get him set straight. The Pred and Gabapentin will help tremendously with the pain and inflammation. Bet he will feel much better by tomorrow.
