Hey folks, this here is Red here seeking my 3rd long term owner.

Here is little bit about me:

I'm a 1997 Toyota T100 with an extended cab, a 3.4 liter 6-cyl engine, automatic transmission, 4-wheel drive and a matching SnugTop canopy that has been installed when I was new. I was assembled in Toyota City, Japan on January 25th, 1997 and rolled off the lot of the Springfield, Oregon Toyota dealer on July 6th, 1997. My first owner used me for his business so if I couldn't work he couldn't work. So he had Lithia Toyota do all the maintenance by the book except for oil changes which he insisted on every 3,00 miles instead of the recommended 5,.000 miles.

My second owner came into my life in March 21st, 2005 when I had 109,348 miles and I began running Shell Rotella T Full Synthetic motor oil. He too has been really good to me, fanatical maintenance, lots of wash and wax, nothing but genuine Toyota parts etc. I wasn't used for commuting and got lots of long trips. He was good to me and I was great to him, never ever failing to do whatever was needed.

    Life was good.

But then this damn Tundra showed up at our place, and just like that, my services were "no longer required". Some way to thank a truck for fourteen years of loyal service!

I've only run 187,000 miles since new and am ready for another187,000 right now. I don't leak, squeak, rattle or burn a drop of oil. My seats have been covered with seat covers since new, my carpets have been covered by factory floormats since new so my interior is nearly spotless. I've never had an accident, not even a fender-bender. But someone once made a small scratch on my paint near the driver's door and I got bumped by a motorcycle handlebar in a garage once, you might be able to see these in the pictures if you look closely, the photographer pointed out these imperfections with his finger in the photos. (You can see more pictures of me here:
    https://www.smugmug.com/gallery/n-g3PHGL/ )

I come with a comprehensive maintenance history from mile one, a 24-page factory T100 brochure, the factory window sticker even a current CarFax! Think of these as a dowry, my commitment toward a long-term relationship.

But enough about me, let's talk about YOU. You are looking for something that works like a full size truck but has better economy. You insist on dependability and are willing to keep up with my maintenance on before the factory schedules. I'm red but you can be any color, just take care of me and I'll take care of you. Just don't show up in a Tundra, I HATE those things!

Very very clean T100. Hope it finds a very nice owner that will treat it the way you did.

What a cream puff! Good luck with your sell. Sorry, did I miss how much you are asking for her?

I asked $8200 and have a commitment from a buyer to pick it up tomorrow at 10AM. It took less than one hour from post to buyer's commitment to buy. I'll call it sold when I see the money in my hand but based on a 30 minute phone conversation with the buyer I have every reason to believe he is sincere. Ironically he owned a T100 once, sold it and regretted selling it, then later bought a Tundra and found it just too big. Scary thoughts for me with my new-to-me 2nd gen Tundra replacing this T100 that has been just flawless the entire time I owned it.

Take care of your Toyota truck and it will reward you with the return in the marketplace if/when you decide to sell it.

Congratulations! Make sure you do an intense interview with the new owner before handing that one over.

No need to do the intense interview Ron, buyer sent me the message tonight explaining that his spouse hadn't signed off on buying ANY vehicle anytime soon.

I don't know if I'm happy or sad that he backed out :=)

    But it's still for sale.

That's too bad, John. He obviously didn't show her a pic and description of your ride.....

Red found his desired 3rd long-term owner today, I'm attaching the requite photo of Red receding in the distance as he heads toward his new home.

The Gen 2 Tundra and I bonded this weekend, I found the TRD suspension amazing. And with that bond the Tundra gets a name: Hi-Lo Silver!

Moderators, feel free to kill this thread now that Red has found his new home.
