I spent some time and used all the stock door and hood seals on the glass fenders. Fits surprisingly well, used the original clips etc.. It’s always dirty, if I wash it then something breaks. Lol

I don’t know the sizes as well for magnuson but I think if you went smaller than the 2.345 it would slip like a SOB anyway. From what I had read, If you want more boost than you can get a larger crank pulley. Problem is then you also need a smaller water pump pulley for enough clearance which spins that faster which may not be a good thing either. It’s a rabbit hole. Just gonna have to do a Harrop swap and see the world of 3” plus pulleys mounted high above the others with more belt wrap…and room for activities. :D

Ya in order to go 2.7 on the Tacoma you gotta get a smaller belt. 2.5 generally requires the pulley wrap mod but guess those aren't really a thing/need over on the Tundra side

I was getting excited looking at this, but it's actually kind of a POS because it appears you're limited to the 2.30" pulley that comes with the kit. I can't find any off the shelf 8 rib pulleys that are under 2.30", meaning we'd have to make a custom pulley which would be easy with that bolt on pulley adapter---except for the fact the way they designed it, there doesn't appear to be room to run a smaller diameter since they run such a massive hub adapter. I remember Victor saying he had a custom pulley made, which matches up with all of this then.

I might have my stock pulley laying around somewhere, then just measure that, design up my own shaft adapter that isn't a fat pig and then make a variety of pulleys to adapt to that :D

EDIT: K I was bored so made some assumptions and am here:

    upload_2022-8-29_14-39-39.jpg
    upload_2022-8-29_14-40-33.jpg

And this would go down to a 2.000" pulley (shown is 2.200"), plus has a proper shear feature to react torque instead of the bolts. Now to see how much this would cost :D

EDIT 2: First blush from Xometry is ~$500 per part, so $1000 for a 1x order. But a run of only 10x would be $2700 so $270 per "kit". For comparison the URD pulley is $150 by itself.

My concern would be belt slip I haven’t looked at the tensioner setup. But this is badass and the want is strong. Lol when we get bored we come up with more parts lol amazing

I don't disagree, but I'm not sure how to (easily) improve that since there's already a ton of wrap on the stock setup. It'd require getting pretty clever to increase that (or just eliminate the belt all together). Victor had a smaller pulley and an underdrive off the crank, I wonder if he did anything sexy to get rid of belt slip or it was a non issue.

When building 03-04 cobras and lightings we used to do a few things to help belt slip. Obviously larger crank pulley like vik works and more boost. Or ribbed pulley like the Reichard Racing piece in the pic coupled with a gator back belt ( think the names changed). Also, larger idler pulleys for more wrap and strength. For example moving from an 80mm idler to 90-100mm and adding an upper idler.

I ran a custom made 2.0” press-on upper and a 10% overdrive lower on the TRD blower without noticeable belt slip back in the day at ~14 PSI.

A 2.0” pressed pulley no hub would be nice. Not like I’d be changing the pulley out all the time anyway. @snivilous design thoughts? Lol

A straight press on is easy, and would presumably be half the cost. I also realized I was looking at Friday lead times which is the $500. For a 3 week lead time of a single unit drops the cost to $350 for the entire thing, and $150 for just the pulley--and a 10x unit run is $137 for the hub setup or $89 for just the pulley. I might have to do this :D

hahah event better. I'm in. What do we think of the upgraded idlers? Event if they're the same size but stronger better bearings etc. To help handle the smaller tighter belt. Or the press on with grooves like the reichard racing example. Wonder what size belts are available. When I was searching for smaller the jump was significant.

What do we think boost increase is? 2.30 is 2 psi 2.00 maybe 4/5psi?
