I'm not saying there's anything wrong with going, I'm saying I would not be able to keep from saying how did a week turn into a month (today is a month from when they said it will be done in a week) which would be counter productive as I just want it back and to not have to deal with them ever again.

Hopefully it will be ready today.

Did you have experience with these people or were they just the first ones to say yes with a reasonable timeline and quote?

Your experiences over the last few months need an after action report so others don't get into similar issues. Were there red flags, what where they, where in the process did they appear, how were they handled, etc. This is multiple not so great experiences so you bring a lot to the table to share.

My assumption is that the guy who did the removal is not the same guy doing the replacement, and they're trying to figure out every nut, bolt and connection.

They were referred by the engine builder.

I do believe there have been a series of one off issues, ICE arresting 2 mechanics, owner going on vacation, getting stranded and returning later than planned. BUT, then there are these statements they are starting the truck and needing to stop due to issues, especially when they are issues that don't make sense (new O rings failing, oil filter tube missing in the Jowett housing so they had to get a new housing)

Bottom line, it's an issue only impacting locals here, and if I get it back today, I'm good letting it go.

    Many on the way.
Not a very in-depth article, but it let’s me beat what should be a dead horse one more time. A big oil to air oil cooler = stronger pistons/rings and more efficient ring gap numbers. Roughly 70% of the piston heat load transfers through the rings to the cooling system, the remaining 30% leaves through exposed surfaces… the latter is where we can see the gains, or more appropriately termed, losses. Running pig rich with big gaps also works, but we’re leaving hp and efficiency on the table.

Cross posting from my post in the turbo thread that now likes to make me think I’m reading the General SC thread at a glance.

It’s been 6 weeks since they received my core. I’d like my VB core deposit back now. Anyone else get theirs?

Call Johnny. That's all I've got. Seriously. I still don't have my VB, let alone worrying about core charges.

Regarding TC thread - the goal was to make them similar. Us having cool shit to talk about is just another step in that direction. So I take your comment as a success. lol

That’s crazy, yours must have really fallen through the cracks somehow. Did he confirm they would get it straightened out for you? Heck, you organized the GB! And yes, I’m all for contributing there also I just remembered the GB was organized in the SC thread, thought I might grab more attention here. I must be on the cusp of getting it if at least 2 members got there’s around 6 weeks.

It wouldn’t matter, but I just keep giving Home Depot all my money with the garage project so my poor credit card could use a credit about now.

Yeah, Johnny wasn't the issue on the GB. He was told it was fulfilled and I am fairly certain he thought I was lying when I called him. Then he worked with Australia and they realized it was a failure in their systems/processes. I was supposed to see it end of June. I'll call Johnny again next week when I'm back at home. He was not thrilled to learn that I fell through since I was the first order placed. lol

And post pics of this man space you have been teasing us with.

Well I hope you get it soon just in time to put your whole package together. You’re gonna need something for that poor transmission!

As for the garage space, at this point the concrete is in for about a week so I’m letting it cure a bit longer before driving on it. I’m unsure if I want to do some kind of concrete coating/epoxy once it’s fully cured. I’ve been working on the electric as I’m doing a 100amp subpanel. I have the conduit run into the house, and that’s almost ready to go to pull the wires. The feed wire to the building alone is like $700, just grateful I don’t have to pay anyone to do it. I have lights coming today, and then I’ll start working on the electric in the garage and hopefully get some work benches and toolboxes to start utilizing the space. Thanks for the interest! I enjoy seeing it come together despite spending what little free time I have working on it.

Nice call on that extra overhead door! And it's crazy how quickly that thing will feel small once the camper is in it.

My biggest gripe with the floor coatings is how slippery they are when your shoes are wet, even with the grit added. That said, I've also never had a brand new garage floor, but maybe you can just seal that and then use those interlocking blocks where you need them? My experience may be dated since I haven't walked on any of the latest coatings. I just told myself I'd never do it in my own garage risking a concussion in someone else's.

Look into Euco Diamond Hard for a finish/sealer on the concrete. Super easy to apply and actual penetrates the concrete, won't peel or chip like epoxy and will help keep stains and dusting down.

We used it in our exposed concrete kitchen for the past 10 years. Same stuff they use in Costco/Lowes/HD. Can also be burnished for a matte polish finished.

Thanks! It was important to me to be able to see the rest of the property and the kids playing outside while I work in there. Plus extra airflow, light, and general access is nice. Good call on considering the slippery aspect of some coatings.

Thanks for the recommendation I’ll check that out. I believe they applied some kind of curing agent/sealer combo after pouring but I’m not convinced it will offer long term protection and some areas still feel chalky and readily absorb water. Not sure if that’s normal or not. I’m curious if I could just apply this stuff over top of it or if it won’t function the same unless it’s totally untreated. I’ll have to do some research.

Ask the concrete guys what brand seal/cure product they used, then call your local Euco rep. If you can't find one, I have a great guy in the PNW. Knows all the products and compatibility.

    That is amazing!!!

Yes for sure! That was my intention was one full bay for camper storage and one working bay with a lift. I actually had them offset the saw cut to the right bay so as to not interfere with the left bay future lift post placement. I definitely see the superior versatility and space efficiency of the 2 post, but really like the idea of having safe long term car stacking storage capability of the 4 post. Maybe one day I’ll knock down and expand my smaller 1 car detached garage and make that the camper garage and have one of each lift in this one….if I still live here.

Also for the fact that these are just now getting in the hands of people and they are selling one with a $2k discount.

I also dont know the visual difference (i know it was posted back a few pages) between the gen4 and gen6. Maybe this is a gen4 and they just copy/pasta'd the updated info off whipple not knowing it was updated.

Seems feasible depending on the buyers risk aversion. For example I personally would rather pay full price to a known vendor that could issue a return or assist with warranty issues than pay 5500 for a used kit with a new head from someone off the internet despite the savings. 5500 seems fair to me. Good chance he had to send his gen4 back for rebuild and it took so long he removed the blower kit entirely and went back to stock, then probably said F it I’ll sell the kit when they send me the new blower.
