So I'm finally going to do the right thing and add a wide band O2 to monitor AFR's.

I have stock exhaust other than SPD cat back. I know bung needs to be upstream of primary cat. Any suggestions for specific location with stock primary exhaust?

Nice, thanks for the detailed pictures! Assuming the right way to do this is to remove that Cat Pipe assembly and just bring it to my welder of choice.

Best way yea- some have been able to get it welded while on the truck but not ideal. Also be sure to sink the bung in slightly to ensure the sensor is in the airstream since the exhaust there is double walled.

Yes, removing the pipe gives you good access and your able to clean the pipe for a good weld. I cut the bung in 1/2, that way the sensor went deeper like @reywcms said.

Yeah, I think they make stepped bungs to get better insertion into the pipe

This is exactly what I was looking for. I may just go with the GCS kit since is bolt on, I hope. This is a high risk job and I want to make sure it gets done right so paying the extra $$$ is worth it for me.

Here is the gasket part number if removing the mid pipe for the bung installation. I was getting some lean readings which could have been coming from a slight gasket leak at the front flange. Toyota says they are a one time use item. I’d recommend throwing two new gaskets in if you are pulling the pipe.

About 10” will clear the double wall…. Don’t recall how close this was to the converter. I always wondered if the insulated dual wall pipe also offers some anti reversion.

Helps keep velocity up to keep exhaust flowing and not backing up and hurting power. Probably what you meant but my spreadsheet weary brain can't define complicated words like anti-reversion at the moment.

Yes, anti reversion keeps things from going back up the pipe.

I've put a few sensors in through the double wall and didn't have issue. As I recall some trucks are single wall and some are double wall in that area. I like clocking it right next to the stock sensor, it's easy to reach, easy to mark where to cut with the exhaust on, and you can be confident the stock and wideband read the same so the results can be correlated. Regardless of the wall setup, I cut the bungs in half (at least the one included with the Innovates) since the bung shields the end of the sensor at full length not including any wall thickness from the exhaust. This picture is an Innovate bung cut in half:

Which results the sensor well into the airflow like the stock sensor:

That's what Keith mentioned back on Tundratalk when he was going over the exhaust setup.
Man too many bookmarks from 13 years ago... he talks about true duals, x-pipes and pipe diameter to help keep the torque lost with some setups.

did a shop custom fab that shroud for you?
I'm interested in one if you have a link, I've had the fans sitting around for awhile to do something like this but that shroud is sweet.
