It may not seem like it, but it would have to travel a long way (uphill if you will) through the channel through the hood. I've driven in some torrential rain traveling through texas and everything was dry in the air box

Wait, is that the RKsport hood? I recall the scoop actually does have a functional ram air function no?

It is not the RKsport, the hood is made by Amerihood. It's the SSK model. It has a much taller scoop. It is a functional ram air, as underneath it channels and seals against an aftermarket open top cold air intake

The extraction vents are also functional from what I can tell. At least they are real vents that are open to the underside

Seibon is nice, are you guys really getting that hot under the hood?

Question for y'all, under wot, what is the shift point from 1 to 2? I think mine is shifting way too early under full launch at 5100-5200rpm.

Well in my opinion anyway to get heat out of the engine bay is good. For me on long multi day baja runs in the heat this would help.

You’re definitely giving up a lot there. Mine is 6000-6100ish.

Man, that's what I thought, time to ask D3 to see if they can change this shift point, 2-3, 3-4 is all around 6000.

You should perform a test for us! try with CSF radiator with thermocouples without hood vents, then try with hood vents.

If I keep towing heavy in this heat, I think I'll go with a CSF as insurance.

My truck won't fit in an automatic car wash, but I use the drive in stall for self service and I spray off the grill directly for a few seconds and never have any adverse effects

    Noice!

I'm listing a bunch of my left over Tacoma and JK parts this weekend. After I sell a few things and free up space, the s/c fit kit is my next purchase.

I imagine they're easier to install on the Tundra than the Tacoma. The SAIS system made it a pia to install the dough thorley long tubes
