I found a problem, not 100% sure if it's the cause of the knocking, but the spacers are contacting the bottom of the supercharger, corresponding marks on the bottom of the supercharger as well. If I bypassed the supercharger with a stock belt, it didn't knock, so maybe the tension of the belt pulling on the supercharger assembly was causing the knocking? I'm still going to have Harrop go through it while they have it, so I can be confident it's good to go, but I need to shave the spacers down on these contact spots.

@Downytide the 880's are supposed to be very responsive even with a low duty cycle at cruising rpm.

That sucks that it may have been an introduced issue. At least your SC will be serviced and in excellent working order.

I usually introduce my issues, one way or another...fml. What's strange is I installed the spacers in November, and this started last month. I agree, at least the SC will be freshened up.

It's odd that it shifted at all. You'd notice it rubbing during install no doubt.

I’d say you found it my dude! This condition is known as “soft foot” on rigidly mounted rotating equipment. Just worked on aligning a shitty old pump with soft foot today actually.

Yeah, I didn't notice anything when I installed the spacers. The SC seemed to sit flush and I was able to torque the nuts/bolts to spec with no issues, and no vacuum leaks when I smoke tested.

Always frustrated me on the ships aligning pumps...no fancy tools back then.

The electronic alignment tools make it so much easier for sure. I’ve done it plenty with the dial indicators as well. Not enjoyable.

The new laser machines make it stupid simple. Just put a requisition in for an Easy Laser XT770 at work, to supplement the two 660's we have.

Finished porting my GM snout, need to clean it up by hand since the cartridge rolls aren't getting in far enough. Also removed the vacuum barbs and drilled the holes out to tap for 1/4npt, going to install 6an-1/4npt fittings in place of the barbs.

It does move well! I let off on a run when I saw it hit 11.7 afr at 6000rpm. I'm still working on my mindset for going pig rich...baby steps as I've got it to low 11's to high 10's at higher rpm.

Who's got a go-to online source for silicone PCV/etc hoses? Trying to stay off Amazon if possible.

Need 1/2 and 3/8 as the hose Radium provided is getting hard and I'd like to replace before it cracks.

I was thinking about it and I’m wondering if it’s a touch lean because it’s scaled for 7psi and if it’s only setting 6psi it might not be adding enough fuel. I could also just be out of fuel but i don’t think so since when it was 15* colder outside and boost was at 6.8-7psi I was dead on 11.4afr.

Don't use silicone for the catch can, it's permeable and the oil will seep through and make a mess. Use rubber hoses, like low pressure fuel hose. You should be able to get from a local auto parts store, or summit racing.

I replaced my catch can hoses with silicone and they were covered in sludge on the outside, nice HPS hoses, wasted money.

Coolant is fine, it's the oil vapor and contaminants that seep through.

Yes, 70/30(w/m) and spraying at 9psi on up. Getting it dialed in takes a little bit. I was running 10.4afr's and leaned them up to 11 and 10.8ish 5600rpm on up.

When you run out of fuel you'll know it. The temps play with it a few points but the PE can jump around a little bit.
