Yep my thought as well as the aluminum to hold up better. I’d be down for a group buy.

I’d probably do delrin if it holds up ok due to likely less heat transfer from the block to the supercharger tub on supercharged trucks than aluminum I would think. Thermally isolating the SC is probably the greatest value of them IMO.

This is what I read as well, but the discussion trail sort of went dry when they were delayed in delivery. I can be convinced to go either way, and if timing can works out right, I'm down to try it as part of the GB.

Do we have any Dyno, tuner feedback, or Dragy times post installs?

I thought about it. Squezzing individual nozzles under the sc be it meth or nitrous should work but if I had an issue I'd be pulling the SC to troubleshoot. Plus I don't think I'd be going for the big HP numbers needing 8 nozzles.

I just reached out asking if they have any performance metrics specifically for the 3UR-FE. They're site not being updated about availability makes me a little concerned, but whatever. I'm all about low end torque

He may not be making them in Delrin. I think that was the case when I purchased.

That would be a shame, but would save me from spending the money I guess. If I could get them in delrin I would probably purchase them as well as a thermal blanket for the SC.

That’s my gut feeling as well. I remember back in my 350z days they used a plenum spacer to help those out and that was only 10-15tq. On that it was worth it as it needed the help but on these trucks? Eh.

I know I posted this before but the placement of nozzle on the intake.
like this guy did back in 2015 with his built engine. We all thought he was crazy the way he was talking but he dumped some serious money in his build.
I could send you my little Maggie for some methanol nozzle ports...:D
If I need to I can add another nozzle pre TB if I go for more HP.

The spacers are fairly well proven on the Hellcat engines, most see a 25/25 (or more) increase without a tune. The decrease in IATs, especially when adding a thermal layer to the bottom of the blower, are worth it in my opinion. I see 12-15F lower IATs (after IC bricks) than before installing the spacers, heat soak takes longer and temps drop faster once I get moving again.

Still, would be nice to see a before/after with a Tundra on the dyno to see what's up.

I could see the benefit for the blower crowd but for the turbo crowd, eh. My IAT's are 10-15* above ambient at full boost with or without the meth and an intake spacer wouldn't have any effect on those. NA even more so.

The spacers are definitely a supercharger mod strictly for the guaranteed lower IATs, or maybe less so for a boost in low RPM torque NA or turbo. There is no low end torque benefit there for the supercharged trucks, they already will melt the tires off right off idle or going WOT off cruising. Like @armyoffoo said though the lower IATs are well documented on SC’s. Would you rather put your hand on a 200 degree engine block, or on a 1” thick piece of delrin on top of the 200 degree engine block?

Yeah, I'm less worried about the thermal break and was more interested in the miracle of more low end torque. This is a target of opportunity for me before the intake manifold gets installed.

I'll share whatever they respond with for actual performance gains on the 3UR.

I'm not committed to it, but I'll also happily take 25 more lb feet pre-turbo spool. If their idea of low end torque ends up being 2500-3000rpm, then I'm a hard pass. Sub-2000 and I'm probably in.

@Silver17 - you replied right before I did. My response isn't directly tied to yours, but it does appear we're both talking similar points.

I finally got a Dragy, so I can at least get some sort of baseline of where I'm at and what the next round of mods does for me. I plan to run a baseline on my current setup, update after the Haltech, and update after the 8HP90, plus whatever else comes.

Side note: This 8HP swap is getting fargin expensive, I've already spent $7,320.76 and I still need to get the transmission, driveshaft, and some other odds and ends...

There isn't really a "kit" for this solution, just a list of parts to make it work.

CANTCU is used as the trans controller
LuxiousAuto CANTCU 8HP harness to connect trans to shifter, TCU and ECU
    Toyota A90 Supra shifter
Haltech 2500 Elite is used as the ECU to integrate with the trans controller
Boomslang harness for Haltech to interface with the 3URFE
Domiworks 3URFE to 8HP90 mounting adapter

Still need: 8HP90 Hellcat transmission, output shaft adapter for 1350 yoke, Trans cooler line adapters for AN fittings, Driveshaft, trans cross-member modification, Haltech AFR/Pressure/Temp sensors, Tuning

And I will need to ship the TCM out of the transmission over to CANTCU (Finland) and have them bench flash to BMW software

Why do I hear you just in front of all of that? (It's what the engine builder says when telling me what to do) generally something like you just remove the engine and....

Not yet, I have a 2WD Tundra, so sticking with that for now. Assuming it all works out and I get a like-for-like 2WD solution, AWD planning will be next. Although I'll probably do a 3/4-link rear first.

If you have a proper rear setup you don’t need 4wd/awd on the street.

That's what I'm hoping, as I think I'd need a different chassis, or extensive modification to make it work. The Haltech should help with launch control.

Yea I’m keeping an eye on this. Theres a few great options for the built 8speeds also when I was looking 1300hp for like $5k-$7k I think it was

    Supercharged with all the trimmings
Yeah, I'm over-simplifying it for sure, it'll take some wiring and lots of configuration/tuning to get it working

I'm looking forward to the Haltech's flat-foot launch ability, the 103mm throttle body I have now just roasts the tires if I give it too much, and spins them at every shift. Would be nice to just stab it and go.

The 8HP70 cost less, and I'm not certain it will work since the starter cut-out is on the driver's side of our truck...the adapter plate might give enough room to fit it up, I never got a response on that question. I'm going to cheap out and get a used 8HP90 off eBay. I will have it thoroughly checked before I install it, and will get it beefed up some day. Used ones are about $4.5K plus shipping.
