I appreciate it. Doesn’t look all that bad other than just messy and not fun on your back on the floor.

Ok...everybody is faster than me. @armyoffoo also made a good suggestion of using a plate to hold the accumulators in place while installing the VB. I never had an issue except for the check ball spring flying out.

Damn how I wish we could get Toyota diesel motors here in the US, that 200 series landcruiser in the video I bet is amazing with a turbo diesel v8.

Instructions come with the valve body itself and are also on the WTA website.

Install FYI: WTA "Extreme" VB kit comes with a new trans filter, but the tube where it's seated into the VB will need to be trimmed. I'm assuming the one they included has extra length for the deeper pan which I did not get. Otherwise straightforward installation, did one quart over as well.

    Quick driving experience(2+ Weeks):
    • Shifts (doesn't feel harsh at all, almost underwhelming if expecting "extreme" shifts). I feel if anyother person drove not knowing a VB was done they wouldn't notice.

    • Firmer shifts 1-3, 4-5-6 feel no difference.

    •Same with downshifts

    • Stop and go traffic does get a bit annoying, so I had been putting it in tow/haul mode trying to keep it in 1st.

    • Overall very happy with it and WTA helps out with return shipping as well, if needed.

So, I'll get my VB back to them asap and hopefully this helps get more modified ones out the door.

AWESOME!! I bought another filter but I'm glad it's not needed and it sounds like it's extended for those with the B&M and PML pans! Thank you for sharing your experience!! I'm excited to get this knocked out!!

What is the part number for the filter assembly? Is it a Toyota part?

It looks to be the same and shows no extensions compared to stock. Of course one can verify when they get the VB. Or call...

The one I attached is a stock photo, of a oem/replacement filter. Trying to show where it was trimmed with the red arrow and used in my case without a aftermarket pan.

Unfortunately, pictures were not taken of the WTA filter that was provided and I'm only guessing it's for the deeper pans as I don't see anyother reason for it being extended in length, not much was trimmed, but needed to happen as the pan will not seat.

That would be a good question as most will get the VB without the deeper pan.
Was it just the top inner seat portion where the o-ring goes as in the pic? The valve body depth is only .25 inches.
The filter sits about .5 inche above the rear baffle on the pml pan. Didn't think it was worth the effort as I always add extra fluid when filling.

I've emailed WAT before and usually get back in a day or 2.

Correct it was cut where the inner seat portion is with the o-ring, tight fit. I believe only about a 1/4" in total was removed from that section.

For the BM pan you could drop it a good inch as it has no baffles. I have the measurements in a post if @snivilous wants to make one for you.

Could we just reuse the stock filter instead of trimming the one shipped on the VB, or is that not how this works? The filter isn’t something people usually recommend changing is it? Although I understand it may be advantageous to replace while it’s all apart.

Lots of people do exactly that and is why a drain/fill is recommended. I'd certainly go for reused vs cutting something down myself, but that's just my anxiety talking since I don't have the appropriate tools to do it neatly

I just used a new oem filter with the PML pan. I usually re-use the old one but if your installing a new $$ VB why not replace with oem filter along with new fluid.

Quick follow up the MAF sensor that @e30cabrio sent in. The board was fried, they said it looks like it was hit with 12v as was suspected. No real "news", other than verifying for those that may have wondered what happened.

welp, 46 gallons transfer flow tank DOES NOT fit truck with 38 gallons tank, the secondary canister does not fit into passenger side, and apparently if you have 38 gallons tank there's a third cross member in the way.

    I'm bummed............

The front crossmember for the 38 gallon is only there for the 38 gallon, so I imagine it could be removed if the 46 has it's own provisions for mounting. What's the secondary canister you mention, that come with the tank?

The only way for it to fit is cut off the front cross member and I'm not going to do that.

This is a 26 gallon truck, noticed lack of cross member in front of the driveshaft support bearing:

Understandable, you would have to cut the rivets and pop them out. I have the 38 gallon also and that crossmember got in the way of my DirtyDeeds exhaust.

Does the 46 gallon have additional mounting, or does it mount to the original strap locations for the 26?

46 gallons only have two straps, while 38s have 3.

The front of the 46s would hit the cross member and it'll sit essentially crooked.

Pretty sure this has been done with tundras with 38gallon tanks. Not surprised that modifications need to be done to fit it.
