The existing snout opening is 102mm, 107mm to the o-ring, so maybe a 105mm TB opening with a 108mm outer so that a 4.25" silicone coupler will fit it? Is that a thick enough wall?

I need a new battery, but here are the bolt hole and opening measurements:

Scratch that, it's 107mm to the o-ring. But I think a 105mm opening should still work?

Is this like a US branch of the same company selling the same product?

Sure is. Everything about their pricing is better, too, including the shipping on my invoice. Pleasant surprise.

Yea I think size it so a coupler fits nicely. Maybe make it curve down from a larger diameter to the 102mm snout opening so it sits flush at the blower.

I'm not opposed to porting the snout, I was planning to do that for the 103mm NW TB.

I ported my 1900 snout out to 94.4mm. The o ring option would work in conjuction with a gasket or a little fipg.

In that case I think we just push the bore as large as possible then and you can port match the snout to it.

Sounds right. The snout can get opened up a bit more than the TB bore since obviously the thread OD is quite a bit smaller than the bolt head diameter. I think these are like 94.1mm

@reywcms you moving in the same area or? I've been considering a move to the WA coast or coastal range near Cannon Beach. Just figuring out some options...

About 20 min from our current location bit further out from all the hustle and bustle. Cannon beach area is gorgeous father in laws out in tillamook area and enjoys it.

It looks like the Whipple snout is modular like the Harrop snout. You just need a GM-variant that has the same pulley alignment...and a new intake tube. I verified the snout I got will line up with Harrop, and ViktorG already ran the same one. I got mine from eBay, an Aussie that was upgrading his to the 110mm snout with the built-in TB...that snout is $3K.

Yea the front of the blower is- from my quick research in think it'd need to be converted to a jack shaft but I don't see why it would be similar to the others. I haven't had to pull the snout to see.

Am I missing something or is their price $200 USD more than buying direct from the Aussies?

    That's strange.

I'm seeing $895 for the product from Johnny, and $1177.27 on the Aussie page (when added to cart).
I'm also seeing $450 core charge from Johnny, and $772.73 on the Aussie page (when added to cart).

WRONG: My math says Johnny is $282.27 cheaper on the VB and $322.73 cheaper on the core charge.
CORRECT: Aussie page is in AUD, not USD. Do you, it's nearly a wash.

For perspective, including delivery and core charge (but not including return shipping of the core via domestic shipping), I'm at $1489.

You’re onto something there. I was thinking this initially after seeing the prices but had not checked on the price again when converted via PayPal. The exchange rate is about 1AUD = .597 USD. The kicker here may be the shipping cost back and forth which I also did not check.

I'm not going to lie, I'll only be slightly annoyed if the website isn't auto adjusting pricing. I paid <$90 for shipping and I'll be paying way less than that to return the core. I'm good, but will absolutely update my post if Jay comes back and says their site does not adjust.

Damn it. I do believe it's still a wash after shipping, but regardless, I'll support the local guys, too. :oldglory:

Just checked, when you pay through PayPal it converts it to USD and the total with the core charge is 1407.20 but nowhere did I see shipping to and from Australia quoted.

The core charge is also 850 AUD for international orders.

To make it a no brainer, maybe Johnny would be willing to offer up a Tundras.com discount if we can get another order or two together referencing the site. I like getting answers during normal US business hours, but that's also because I'm needy and impatient and I appreciate a few extra bucks isn't worth that to everyone.

Interesting that all companies doing valve body upgrades uses the Sonnax and/or combination of Transgo kits. Each add there own little mojo: be it stiffer springs, larger accumulators or special solenoids.

I couldn’t handle all the mental math in my feeble mind, so I put it in Excel. Going direct to Aussies, it’s approx $247 cheaper. I’ll be down if this Johnnie does a group buy to be competitive with Wholesale Automatics.

I made an assumption that return shipping will cost the same as shipping costs to my location.

I have 5 pages of codes in my Autel, shop says there are none, it runs great & they want it for several days to verify they don't come back.

There are several that were permanent yesterday, how can they be gone after 1 drive cycle?

    WTF???

I'd definitely let them keep it for a week, hell maybe two at this point. Even let them drive it home a few time to put more miles on it.

It just reminds me about my Tundra having all sorts of mysterious codes. Saying it was the throttle body. Replaced it, no dice. Would start for a second and then die. Techstream gave a huge troubleshooting tree. And it was the GD fuel pump again, that I had worked on so many times already. I just let the dealer install a factory pump at that point and it worked again.

My bet is on a bad ground wire somewhere. Maybe the wire got pulled away from the connector a little bit and can't see it? No idea. Best of luck with it! That ECU connection on the '21 was a PIA to unclip and remove. At least more than I figured it would.
