Not a bad idea. I purposely have my throttle settings dumbed down a little bit for low traction (winter) situations. They are still a hair up from stock settings, but quite muted compared to a ‘spicy’ tune. I tow a lot with my truck, so tow haul remained virtually the same as stock, which is more aggressive but still very predictable even with the SC. They are dialed about right so that I hardly notice a difference in throttle response going from loaded without trailer to loaded up with trailer.

Oof. What a bummer. I know it’s only a general direction, but I’d be chasing down wiring, looking for a pinched wire or bad pin. I know it’s been suggested to look at the pins, but on more than one occasion I’ve seen myself or friends accidentally pinch a wire or bend a pin on a harness while doing major work on a vehicle such as a transmission or motor. Could still be a critter causing coincidental collateral chaos..?

Also, as has been noted, you can hook up HPTuners and verify throttle with the key on but motor off.

Best of luck. If needed, I have a working OE TB I could lend. You’d still have to wait a few days for it to show up, but it’s available.

Not sure where they are at in diagnostics. I'd be tracing tb and maf wires to ecu. When I swapped engines I had a few wires get dinged up. They looked good but no continuity to ecu. Hopefully they got the wiring schematics and can check continuity from Tb and maf back to the ecu pins.

The shop was going to pull out the coolant reservior and trace wires. I found nothing in a search but figured all it can be is the pedal. I got a Duralast at Auto Zone and it works!

    Wtf?????

If it makes you feel better, I’m having communication issues with my tuning so I’m unable to get the appropriate logs for the tuner. Trying to chase down the wiring harness to see if something is tapped in to it.

Yes, the entire pedal had to go to replace the sensor, The truck is home, it also solved the gear drop-down. My logic was worst case, I'll bring it back.

I'm sorry that's happening, it sucks when things don't work.

I need to put the RCF TB Back on & get logs, it's idling high but feels good.

Do you have a Maestro, or another head unit that taps into OBD2 (not just the plug, actual wire taps)? I was running into the same problem with mine, had to disable OBD2 in the head unit before scans would work.

Yes I do. I’ll have to check into disabling obd2 in the head unit. I ran out of daylight before I could trace for actual wire taps.

@armyoffoo That was it. Disabled the obd2 on the head unit and every channel lit up.
@TurboKits note for future reference. Folks that can’t read the channels that have aftermarket head units that plug into the obd2, have them disable that to read properly.

To further prove this, I’ve been having with tech stream 18 and my mcvi pro losing comms with the truck. After disabling the obd2 in the head unit, zero issues communicating or monitoring.

For you guys out there that have spent time tuning on this platfrom in original to increased levels of boost, did you find any benefit to run a colder step plug when running original boost/pulley on Magnusson or other kits? I know Magnuson suggests OEM heat range plug with their original set up. I've always run colder plugs on boosted engines, but I know the boost levels are pretty low with original pulleys.

Whatever this forum told me to do
    from the peanut gallery....

when I had my Harrop installed, the installer recommended cooler plugs

    so I did.

    and it's been fine.

this was with original pulley & injectors.

I'm still running the cooler plugs with smaller pulley & larger injectors.

I'm going one step colder on my turbo kit just for the added safety along with larger injectors.

For boost it's typically 1 step colder for every 10 PSI. So 0-10 PSI, 1 step, 10-20 PSI 2 step...

Thanks. My installer recommended we install 1 step colder plugs when I dropped off the truck, even though Magnuson does not call for it. It made sense to me so I agreed.

Magnuson used to call for IKH22 (I believe 1 step colder) on their kit as it comes. It even specifies this on the sticker of the lid for my magnuson intake box. I went down a pulley and am at around 8.5-9psi and I’ve been using IKH24 with no issues so far.
