Nope. Did want to deal with the supposed headaches of the V6TT on the Sequoia. Not to mention they are grossly over priced. $62.5 for a base SR5. Plus I didn't want another full-size vehicle. Nothing else in the Toyota line up called my attention. Looked at Lexus and the 2025 RX350 now has a 4cyl turbo, no way. So I got a 25 Acura MDX SH-AWD. Wife went with a 24 Nissan Ariya AWD+ 389HP. That thing does 0-60 in 4.8 sec. I was looking at the Armada but seems ever manuf is going smaller engine. While impressive at 425/516, it's a V6TT and a gas guzller at that.

 

Looks about as difficult as an oil change with the stock skid plate...

Gave up, ordered the Harbor Freight stand, also, shop called, Toyota sent the wrong alternator, of course it was at 5:45, only Napa has Densos so I ordered it with seconds to spare as they close at 6 and I have to go pick it up & parts runner it to the shop, Friday pickup is still theoretically the plan.

I put up for sale the VF Tuner that came with my SC. I did "register" it and did get a tune from Magnuson, never uploaded it to the ECM. So question is, is it still good for tuning and/or for Techstream or for anything?

 

XAT has an adapter for a T56, which also has 4WD and AWD t-case options.

Kudos to them, though. Slapping gears in a boosted Tundra would be a fantastic experience. Then I thought about traffic while towing and decided to ask if they also offer an upgraded VB.

 

Yeah, you're limited on Clutch selection as well. I'm in the same boat, I'd never do a manual in my daily driver. Fun car/weekend car or off-roading rig, sure, just loses it's appeal with traffic.

 

They use level 10 for their trans upgrades

 

Doing the T56 with a center Torsen dif to make AWD and ignoring 4x4 electrical may work (make it manual locking, but seldom used since awd already). That would be pretty neat. Get the XAT 6.8 stroker kit, big SC and 6sp manual AWD, might as well do it to a single cab and do the 5.5ft bed conversion to make it a pint sized tundra.

I'm in alternator hell.

Thanks to while I'm in there I am replacing almost everything. using my VIN, I ordered the alternator from Toyota, they packaged it horribly, it was damaged in transit, got another. Shop went to put it in last night, nope, wrong connector. Toyota sent a 150 AMP, I need 180. Ordered a Denso from Napa, bring it to the shop, same 150

Denso USA has it on a national backorder.NAPA says they have them but they are 3 days out

it’ll work on older TS versions, but GTS it isn’t great. Purchasing it to use for VF, $100 is about breaking even for end user

Here's my terrible MS Paint job. 5.5ft SDHQ Double Cab Conversion and what a hilarious Regular cab 5.5ft bed conversion may look like. Regular cab shortbed 4x4 5.7 is 5080lbs (210in long), so a 5.5ft would be about 4980lbs (198in long), still a big boi.
