I don't know when I started throwing candy in, it's been awhile now. But more recently I'm like, well maybe they don't like whatever candy is thrown in so I need some variety. In this case @sbxx312 lucked out a bit versus the normal extra couple jolly ranchers or whatever mints are laying around  plus of course the two color variant stickers, and a fridge magnet nowadays. Been debating buying shirts and throwing free shirts in, but fuck shirts are expensive even to have as paid merch

I'd buy a shirt. No need to throw it in. We're lucky to get candy and magnets.

Nerds clusters look like the boneless wings of the nerds product line. It’s like the nerds rope for lazy asses that can’t be bothered to decide how large of a bite they want to take off the rope, so they did it for you. That’s what’s wrong with this country. Sad.

Hoodies are so expensive though! I was looking at shirts yesterday, and even buying like 50x with just a front and rear design is like $25/shirt, can't imagine how much hoodies are. Let alone if you get fancy with designs on the sleeve. It would be sweet though! But investing $700 in shirts is a couple throttle body revisions

I try to get the "unboxing experience" as good as I can at the price point I want. That's something I always notice and like with products when you get extra stuff in there, sometimes that's more exciting than the parts themselves! Like my Canik when I bought it came with a little mini gun replica and a bunch of tools and extra parts and a nice foam case and all this other stuff, opening it and seeing what I got was almost as cool as getting a new gun.

I actually drew up a mini replica Tundra the size of a key fob to have machined out of aluminum to throw in with purchases, but it wasn't feasible (albeit still cheaper than a shirt....). I might revisit stuff like that as I develop more expensive things like the throttle bodies. But for now, the magnets and candy felt like a big step up over just stickers, and adds a little bit extra pizzazz to the "experience" :D

    Pro tip from the day:
When a D-bag 3rd gen driver is riding your ass to make sure you see their new fish faced lunar-cock tundra, give them a downshift with some crackles and pops to remind them of what they’ll never have.

Don’t mind me, I’m just having fun practicing yelling at clouds for when I’m an old man.

I thought the 3rd genners had a setting on their giant infotainment screen for 'V8 sounds' in lieu of the V6 exhaust sounds coming through their speakers :D

It’s right next to the button for air recirculation since they like to smell their own farts while they listen to synthesized V8.

It is absolutely good practice, and if it were me, that’s exactly what I would do whether they had 1000 miles on em, or 100000miles on em. But it isn’t absolutely necessary and it is a matter of opinion at what mileage you should replace them. I’ve got pumps at work that have been running in excess to 20 years strait and the show no abnormal vibration wave length. Then I’ve had some in service for 5 years that I’ve already replaced the bearings in.

Searched torque converter on Google and here, a huge percentage of hits are this thread but most about transmission failure.

Should I replace it and if so oem or one of the zillion "upgrades"?

I did a fair bit of converter research for my buggy a week ago, the general consensus was off the shelf converters can be okay but are generally compromised and get one custom built when possible. Not sure if that's an option for Tundra converters, but I'd be more inclined to do that or send off the stock one to get reworked instead of buying an off the shelf one. Apples to oranges but it was $1000 for a custom built unit for my 4L80e that's setup based on the vehicle weight, gearing, engine build, tire size, use case, etc.

With that said, I'd just run the stock card converter for the Tundra unless you're feeling thrifty and want to play with converter setups specifically.

    Thanks.

Biting my tongue, throwing salt over my shoulder, praying to Saint Wrench etc while typing.....

I have had no transmission issues, I am 11k+ into this deal, 2x that + on the BMW so I'd like to not spend another penny if I don't have to. I also don't want to have to pull the transmission.

If it were a clutch, no brainer, I'd get it, just bought a new kit for the BMW even though the "old" one was sub 2k miles (maybe sub 1k) but had odd hot spots so I'm leaning towards getting one but now that you introduce new ones can be bad I'm even more worried.

    :p

The clutch on my 2JZ has hot spots and weird wear marks. After talking to some friends they said just run it, and I cant feel any oddities about the clutch. I got the flywheel surfaced, and just kept the pressure plate and clutch. Run it until it won't run no more! Same situation of a couple thousand miles at most, so despite the weird wear it should have plenty of life left, and spending $500 on a clutch every time it's apart isn't cheap.

I'd send it with the stock converter and the BMW clutch. If there's no feeling of issues and visually it's not something catastrophic then it's probably fine.

The converter on the buggy I swapped out because it was sized so wrong that it affected drivability, otherwise I'd still run it.

Thanks, the clutch felt fine but was a cheap eBay sub 300 kit so I got the HD OEM M3 kit & aluminum flywheel for 860.
