I'm pretty sure my fittings will clear with room to spare, but I have the option to move it up another 1/2-1" if needed. Or I could get banjo fittings if it came down to it. I want to keep it between the bottom port on the heat exchanger and the fittings that go on the engine so I can easily drain as much oil as possible.

Flying down the road with 6000lbs drifting side to side can be a bit much. Now if I were flying high in the dunes or in some knarley stuff it'd be gone.

1 1/4" - 1 5/16" between the the fittings and the sway bar, should be good. I used Earl's AT949010ERL that I was going to use in the heat exchanger, but I have more room there than I thought. Oil is draining now, and then I can swap out the stock oil filter assembly with the one from the models without the tow package.

not tryin to drift a 6000lb truck lol but ive done some decent speeds off road with some whoops and it was pretty damn smooth other than that it would be crawling. i like full flex over limited. makes me wish i could afford a mid or long travel and still keep the lift height

Any fool-proof way to clean a oil heat exchanger core out? I ran water through it for a while and blew it out with compressed air, but I just wanted to be sure before I trust it with my oil.

I would think it would be good to use a gentle solvent like mineral spirits or even gasoline and let it soak in there. Then rinse with hot water and dry with low pressure compressed air or something.

    @snivilous

I spend a few minutes digesting this, at least the TRD tune portion as I've largely left my trans tune alone (except lockup) I overlaid the line pressure limits over your screenshot and wanted to talk out loud to see if I'm understanding what you guys are?

    Sniv Trans rev.TT.jpg

    1. PCS Line Pressure limit is increased ~21%, then from the base line pressures, it appears those tables for gear 1 and gear 2 modify those pressure limits and reduce the pressure over 34% throttle position?
Assumption, increasing pressure thru lower throttle % should in theory keep heat down, but then it reduces pressure a bit near WOT to "back off" and take it a little easier on the trans. Thoughts?

    2. PCS Line Min and PCS TCC Min are both substantially increased. Unsure if this is again to keep heat down at the potential cost of loss of "rubber band" drivability?

    3. PCS SL2 Brake Max is reduced to almost nothing. Unsure exactly what the SL2 solenoid controls but appears to be engine braking lockup pressure, wouldn't this reduce potential for engine braking and go into a coast situation on decel?

Any comments or thoughts from anyone?

Well gents looks Iike another tranny/torque converter bites the dust. Had some pretty good rpm flare ups today. Decided to go around the neighborhood where its less busy and test for it was happening in 2nd-3rd gear. Got on it and bam, lost all gears, no acceleration. Barely made it home and had to coast back. Hoping the converter is just toast:sadviolin:

    P.S

Just had tranny fluid serviced on Monday. No codes.

This is suspicious to me, but guess it could be coincidence. Show of hands, who has had transmission problems that has vs. has not modified transmission tuning parameters? I only have 23k on mine since boosting, 71k on the truck. Lots of towing, knock on wood no trans issues yet. Stock trans tune. These failures have me not wanting to get on the throttle too hard until I at least do a VB upgrade. This AB60 transmission we are stuck with really pees in the boost cheerios.

I'm running TRD tables. I'm one of the unlucky ones, only 3 tables to modify.

I'll have to look into it, but I think the values for the tune I showed arent displaying correctly (common on the 19-21). The values you overlaid look correct, and those values aren't modified, so if they're different something is wrong.

On the 19-21 the solenoid curves are literal gibberish, that's why I think those values are also and I just didn't notice since I've never tried to change them anyway since the TRD tune doesn't change them.

    Sorry to hear, @ARES35.

I was running a mostly TRD transmission tune, but I was experimenting with 3,4,5,6 L/U and giving it a really hard time. My symptoms were the same, forward gears were like trying to drag race on ice but reverse was fine.

When my trans went boom it was 5th and 6th that were hosed, 1-4 were kind of sorta functional (albeit still fucked). If it shifted into 5th it was stuck in 5th until the truck restarted, and 6th was extinct. That was somehow a result of using the lower gears really hard with continuous WOT on the beach.

On my little drive all was good until I slowed to 2nd gear. Gunned it, rpms slipped to 4k released throttle and lost all gears but reverse.

Probably go built so issues never happen again, in theory. Sucks that all the performance tranny shops are extremely far from Colorado though:facepalm:

After much thinking I’m probably going to throw in a new oem unit. Then work on an 8speed or other trans solution. I don’t love the ipt/level10 options of reliability etc

Do the L10 and IPT have reliability issues? Other trans solution would be idea.

Probably smart, I might also spring for an IPT valve body if it were mine and I were in your shoes. If you’re going built engine you pretty much have to come up with some other more robust option like the others mentioned in the 6.0 stroker thread. I don’t think there is any AB60 build up to the task. It’s the biggest let down of boosting these trucks IMO.

The valve body isn’t a weak point from what I’ve heard and John only adds a sleeve to the shift solenoid slots. Nothing ground breaking there from my conversation with him. But I’ll give him another call to see what’s up

Whats the consensus on these blown transmissions? Extremely worn clutch plates, valve body solenoids, TC, combo? Mine feels like the torque convertor completely failed but just a guess.

To follow up, a normal tune (TRD file from my truck):

    upload_2024-12-7_19-21-5.png

    The funky tune I posted:

    upload_2024-12-7_19-22-6.png

SL1 Clutch Pressure curve on my TRD tune:

    upload_2024-12-7_19-21-29.png

Same curve on the funky tune:

    upload_2024-12-7_19-22-31.png

On the 19-21 that are funky I just change the Base Line Pressure values (the ones highlighted in green before), everything below that should be ignored on those newer trucks since HP Tuners has issues reading/adjusting the data (as evidenced by the gibberish).

Interesting, pressure limits are identical to my stock '07 trans tune as is SL1 curve. Then the only differences so far are the gear 1 and 2, mine has them in 1 map, "Gear 1 or 2" And it looks like you have the compare from TRD vs OEM, so they reduce pressure at high throttle? Or are you comparing backwards?
