Thanks. I'm coming up on a full change and will try the AISIN fluid. I've used the Toyota and Idemitsu when just doing a partial drain/fill.

With the CA smog checks can they tell the tune was modified from OEM if you modify the original file and don’t use a different modified file? Just curious.

 

Transmission update:
It's installed. Road tested. Line pressures are not coming up like he wants to see. Needs to make some adjustments to the valve body. I did confirm they replaced all solenoids with new toyota solenoids, just modified for higher line pressure as I understood it (don't quote me on that). The wrong bolts were delivered for the crossmember so they're still waiting on those. Not going to pick up the truck tomorrow, unfortunately. They're tracking for Wednesday 6-7am. Not too bad but traffic could end up sucking monster balls on the way home the day before Thanksgiving. It is what it is. I'd rather a slight delay to have it all done right and have no concerns vs them rushing and saying f it come get it. He did say it's a torque monster on the road test!

Side note, my brothers shop just acquired a dyno and planning to take the truck there this winter for some free dyno time. They may end up having a friends and family dyno day. I know everyone is scattered about the US, but the shop is in Stevensville, MD. I'll share info if they set a date.

 

Good to know they replace the solenoids

 

I doubt it can tell if its been modified, but I'm not an expert. If/when i go s/c'd, i'll just flash back the old tune and drive 50 miles before taking it to get smog'd.
Anything that requires a retune (injectors/pulley) would probably need to be removed prior to flashing back to stock s/c tune

 

I don't think you can tell the ecm has a tune with any type of OBD scanner, at least with the tundra. If toyota, HPT, and OV Tune can't pull the file from the ecm, I doubt smog can.

Fellas, its time to change air filter, I need help on confirming what filter fits, I recall 2nd gen 07-13 filter works?

 

Assuming Maggy air box? If so, you got it. The AFE dry drop in tested best in my truck when I compared to TRD(oiled) and Wix.

 

So get supercharged and then flash back the stock tune for smog. Let’s hope nobody does a test drove and blows your engine up.
