This is my second transmission. I did have a p2757 come up every 1000 miles. I disabled flex/lock and kepp the fluid topped off. Hasn't come back in 1.5 years. Hoping the VB was installed in time. I may drain a little to see what condition it's in.

never a bad idea. every 30k won't hurt. my truck was done at 58k, 90k, 130k and 175k. sniv's pulley was the nail in the coffin

Now realizing that due to measurement differences your 76mm sniv pulley is like a 70-71mm as I’d be accustomed to on a Harrop, hot damn that’s a lot of extra oomph. At least your trans still had a pretty long life in the truck. Also, agreed on the 30k intervals especially towing and being boosted.

Yeah I must have missed that conversation at some point in this thread. I remember catching a glimpse of it when reading through but never dug into it. So the 76 from Sniv is much more of an aggressive increase that we had originally thought? Maybe I'll see if I can get the truck on a dyno after this whole transmission replacement has been done. Curious to see the numbers. My brothers shop just bought one so shouldn't be too hard! Any idea if I'm in for a 'gentle' break in period for the new/rebuilt trans? I'm sure level10 will give me all that info, but just curious.

The Magnuson measures different than the Harrop. At the end of the day the boost you're running is what matters. But if you want less power there's more pulley sizes these days! Or more power... :D

When I got my (non-L10) trans they said there's no break in.

For those that have had transmission fail.. @Ponderosa_Pine @Mdl @carn_dogg @reywcms I'm curious to know what your transmission fluid maintenance schedule looked like? I've been very good at ~30k mile drain and fills and am hoping that will pay off.

Also, has anybody done UOA on their transmission fluid? I had one done through Blackstone Labs at 183k before getting serious about installing a SC to try and get a glimpse of the transmission health. I'd be happy to post it, but the gist of it was: oil itself was in great shape, wear metals were a bit high for the mileage. Curious to compare notes if anybody else has done lab work. I should have sent another sample in when I performed the last D&F a month or so ago but was in a hurry. Oh well.

I did one at 79k about 1000 miles after I put the supercharger on. First time it had been changed as far as I know.

My first trans went at 35k (supercharged for 20k miles and big power increases for 5k) so had not done a service by that timeframe. Definitely will be servicing the new IPT one at a local custom performance shop that installed it.

Your guy says its based on 56000 mile intervals and mine says its 35,200, and the universal averages are way different. Gonna be hard to judge what's good or bad if the target is always moving

Ya, I noticed that as well. I wonder if they break it out by generations and run different averages for Gen 2 vs Gen 2.5. We can focus on fluid properties and wear metals, I suppose. I'm surprised to see the wear metals so close considering the large discrepancy in mileage between the two vehicles. Hopefully that means they are both wearing well? Or being abused equally...

I'm not a good candidate for a comparison. The 2007/2008 had weak torque converter spring dampners, issues with flex lock causing overheating the TC. Once the Auburn was in it was burnout city and the ab60 come to find out didn't like it. With 70k on the truck it was toast along with the Auburn.

Mid drive update. Truck is banging every gear. Hates going into 5. Won’t touch 6. Driving in s4 the whole way. No codes yet during the drive. 2.5 hrs to go

    edit
Truck made it. Dropped it off and headed home with the loaner they provided.

What gear(s) starting banging with your truck? I’ve been getting occasional banging into 3rd when getting on it.

Into 3rd at 60mph. Then into 3rd at 1500 rpms pulling out of driveway. Then 5th slipping under stress. 4-5 shift messy. Clunking. Codes. Level10

Just as a reminder of your build @carn_dogg , Level10 is the next step or you're currently dealing with a Level10 transmission?

My use case was a bit extreme. Heavy hp and tq on sand and dirt is hard combo on parts. But I did the trans fluid frequently twice since I’ve owned the truck in the 2 years.

Is everyone still using WS in trans? I swapped out for Amsoil SS at 30k miles and hoping it’s protecting better than WS.
