    @Jowett.
Been running them for past 45 days about 1500 miles. All different rpm ranges from just cruising to a few wot pulls. Haven't noticed any I'll effects. Will pull the coil and see if there is any discoloration or cracking. Will see about testing if resistance has dropped off?

With lower than ideal dwell times being fed, the 8AR coils are not reaching full umph, so unless my understanding of it all is simply too basic, you should not see any problems there.

This begs the question, why not increase dwell on the stock coils to reduce misfires on our boosted engines? Do they have the capacity to do so w/o overheating? Between bringing the coil up out of the head, and having longer dwell time (presumably to create a strong spark), certainly points to Toyota having concerns about overheating while producing said spark… yes?

How does dwell time/angle correspond to the increase in cylinders? Being that 8arfts 4cyl vs the 3urfe 8 cyl?
Questions that we probably should of asked...call to Denso? Haha

Dwell and angle are old analog terms applied to digital tech, both are handled by the ECM for each individual coil on plug…. No distributor, no points, no cam.

hmm, I could have used the clear lens from that pile. Mine came with a small scratch and my OCD always sees it. Not sure if they sell that separately or not, I never inquired about it.

edit: nevermind, I have the psb-1. It’s been a long morning.

Wouldn't log correctly, gauge read correctly but couldn't get any accurate logs. I had a couple of support cases with HPTuners before finally opening one with AEM, they are sending me a replacement gauge since I purchased in January of this year and still under warranty.

Just curious if anyone else has my problem. Anytime I retune after tweaking something I run extremely rich or "rich after tune" . I'm thinking especially since I target the 10's. After some mile and time for trims to learns it eventually leans out to target. It can be deceiving though because if I were to take fuel then A/F goes lean. More of an If im the only one question lol

Get it dialed in and run it for a bit and it will settle out. I find making quick changes leads to more quick changes.

Okay good. Thought maybe since a flex fuel. No wonder cats blow up lol. Sometimes I'll be hitting 8's, popping and crackling until it levels out. Real nerve racking at WOT lol

Looks like GM in HP tuner have this problem that's pretty widespread. They have a way to tune the injector tip temperature via offset vs Injector temperature table. We have no such table and I'm not sure the 5.7 has a injector temperature sensor anyways
But I may be wrong idk

My AFR under PE is pretty touchy and inconsistent, not just after tuning though. I'll send @snivilous logs and he'll get it all dialed, then the next pull it's way richer. Or leaner. And he'll make a tiny adjustment and it will go way off in the other direction. I'm not sure if it's annoying him, but it drives me nuts.

I feel you! I've fumbled around many times getting MAF table adjusted for part throttle trims close to 0 then PE for WOT and then PE table for part throttle boost. For a while there fresh tune being super rich initially and then learning threw me off. I'd tune to lean a/f then it would lean out after tune settled lol

I fall prey to this all the time and have to give myself a talk. It's also helpful to just close the laptop and just drive it for a few days.

While all totally relevant to supercharging… this thread is really good at scaring away the average Joe reading this thread from supercharging his truck.

Turbo charging doesn't have any of these issues or concerns. Everything is perfect, every time. ;)

I tell everyone I see with a tundra to supercharge! Even the guys with the new V35A-FTS C Turbos and hybrids:rofl:A painter I work with sometimes has a 2nd gen with ladder racks and tools. Told him he might as well also.

While I admire the fearlessness to pioneer new ideas and try new things to maximize performance from this platform and tackle things DIY, I would swear some guys wake up wondering what they can do to their truck to stress them out in a new way each day lol.
